I went to see Dr Nikolaos Kasiteridis at Forest and Ray as I was having complex problems with some upper teeth, including a front tooth, a difficult situation for anyone! Ultrasonic Scaling  
Ultrasonic scaling is a standard procedure performed during a hygiene consultation to remove plaque and tartar buildup from the teeth and gums. A dental hygienist performs the procedure. Before starting, a thorough examination of the teeth and gums may precede it.It is a kind of cleaning that uses a unique instrument called an ultrasonic scaler uses high-frequency vibrations and a fine stream of water to break up and remove the buildup of plaque and tartar from the teeth. The scaler is designed to be gentle on the teeth and gums while effectively removing stubborn deposits that cannot be removed by brushing and flossing alone. Your teeth will be polished to remove any remaining stains and to give them a smooth, shiny surface. Ultrasonic scaling is an important part of preventive dental care because it prevents gum disease, tooth decay, and other dental problems.
