What is a Dental Implant?

Dental implants are artificial screws made of titanium or zirconium oxide that connect the jawbone and a dental restoration like a crown or denture. They are also called ‘endosseous’ implants or fixtures. They are an artificial tooth root. Once implanted, the implant integrates with the surrounding bone like part of the body. As a result of a number of less-than-satisfactory and very painful - visits to other dental practices, I decided to do my own research and found Dental Art almost on my doorstep. To say that I was impressed would be a gross understatement. I had an extraction on a root that had been snapped during a previous (unsatisfactory and painful) dental visit - a different practice, I hasten to add - the last in a litany of unpleasant experiences. Dental Art proved to be a totally different situation: polite, efficient staff, backing up exceptional and highly professional practitioners. My surgery was carried out with a minimum of fuss and, most importantly, completely painlessly. I would recommend this dental practice to others without any hesitation whatsoever.
