EVLA (laser treatment): One leg £1695   Two legs £1995 The first step is to come along for a consultation to see one of our vascular specialists. This will include a colour duplex ultrasound scan to determine the underlying cause of your varicose veins i.e. whether you have any faulty valves. The doctor will then discuss the treatment options with you. If EVLA (laser treatment) is required this will be performed as a walk in- walk-out procedure without the need for a general anaesthetic.The procedure takes approximately 20 minutes per leg. A small injection of local anaesthetic will be given to numb the leg, a laser fibre is then inserted into the vein using ultrasound guidance, and this is then slowly pulled out destroying the vein in the process. A compression stocking will need to be worn for a week following treatment. The majority of patients state that this is the only uncomfortable part of the whole procedure. 6 weeks after treatment you will return for follow up where a repeat scan will be undertaken to ensure that the underlying cause of your veins has been solved.
