I have had clients that have come to therapy with a
sense of unease and uncertainty about why they are feeling this way. There are
times when we don’t know what is happening but we feel stuck or unsure about
where we are in life. I can help you explore what is happening for you in this
time and would hope that we could come to an awareness and clarity about what
you want for your life.
Elva Glynn Bsc (hons), Dip, Pre-
Accredited member of IACP.
I am a fully trained Professional
Psychotherapist.
I am a Pre- Accredited member of
IACP and work within their Code of Ethics and practices.
I am committed to my own
professional and personal development, therefore providing the best possible
service to my clients.
I work from a Humanistic Integrative
framework.
I will work with you to develop your awareness about what may be preventing you from living your life to its full potential. This is an active exploration of experience and the aims of therapy are different for each individual. I will be guided by each individual as to which approach works best for them.An integral part to the therapy being successful is a resilient therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client. I will work with you in a sensitive, respectful and understanding way. I offer a safe non-judgemental and confidential space in which you can explore your options. This is an exploration into what feels right for you at this time, therefore I do not offer advice. If you do not have the answers we will collaboratively look at your core beliefs and values and look at what is right for you at the moment. It is important to remember that therapy works collaboratively and we will work together throughout your therapy. Those that benefit most are people who are willing to explore themselves and the issues they are facing. Ultimately you are working on connecting with yourself as a whole person.
State of Mind services include Counselling
and Psychotherapy
Counselling
Counselling is usually for a specific
issue. We would usually work on this issue alone; this would require a shorter
period of time to resolve this particular difficulty.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is more in depth and
generally related to your childhood or a difficulty that has been in your life
for some time. Your childhood or past could be shaping your present; and right
now you could be faced with a dilemma that doesn't sit right with you. When we
work using Psychotherapy we are searching for the root of the problem. This
therapy is longer in duration and this will depend on what the issue is.
