Michaels Approach
I base my work on creating a strong therapeutic relationship where the individual feels fully accepted and empathized with. Through applying certain skills we will begin to explore, process, and learn to manage the issues that brought you into therapy, whilst simultaneously developing a deeper relationship with yourself. Gaining a greater awareness and understanding of your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, desires, boundaries, and purposes is all part of the process. I work predominantly in a person-centered way but will integrate other theories into my practice if necessary such as CBT.
Message to clients
The challenges that bring us to therapy can sometimes overwhelm us, leading us to feel lost or as if we're fighting an uphill battle. Seeking therapy can be a positive step in learning to manage these issues, gaining a greater sense of control over one's self and life, experiencing more overall balance, and developing a more positive outlook.
I commend your courage in making this choice to come into therapy as I know it is not easy and I encourage you to continue on this new journey.
