I felt confident enough to start playing tennis againPaul, UK, 11 10 19I am a tennis coach who suffered back pain for 6 long years. During that time, I agreed to everything the NHS suggested (X-ray, MRI, physio, pilates, acupuncture, TENS, pain management clinic, drugs, and epidural injection). Nothing worked. I then tried the private treatment, including three visits to an osteopath called Charles Reid in Bromley who I knew from my A level college. He couldn't help either. Then my back pain got a lot worse. I could barely walk and got sharp stabbing pain every time I coughed, sneezed or laughed (not that I had much to laugh about). Obviously I could no longer work as a tennis coach. I was wary of chiropractic because 20 years ago I was wrongly diagnosed by a chiropractor here in Orpington and received treatment which made my back problem at the time even worse. But I was desperate, and felt I had tried everything else apart from surgery - no way would I agree to that (which, ridiculously, is what the osteopath suggested btw). So I gave chiropractic another go. I chose the Chiropractic Health Centre because they seemed very professional, and also because JB was happy with the 3-year-old NHS X-Ray I showed him (another chiropractor in Orpington was insistent that I needed to pay him to do another more up-to-date X-ray which I objected too). After three sessions with JB, my back was less tense, so I felt that progress was being made. After 8 sessions in total, I could walk freely again (and the severe pain from coughing, sneezing, laughing had gone). I took his advice (walking every day, gentle exercises, etc), and started coaching again without pain. After enjoying one whole year of relief, I felt confident enough to start playing tennis again (again, completely pain-free). I believe in giving credit where credit is due, so I highly recommend JB and the Chiropractic Health Centre.
