Reiki by Rekha

I was trained as a Reiki Master under the Usui system of Natural Healing. I was taught the traditional method of Healing as passed on by Dr Usui and can trace my lineage back to him. I live in westminster and I am currently working as a full time Reiki practitioner. As far back as I can remember I have always been interested in helping people, it didn’t matter if they were friends, family or complete strangers. As a teenager I enjoyed visiting elderly people from all walks of life to do their shopping or simply chat to them as most of them lived alone and were lonely. I am known amongst friends and family to be someone they can turn to for advice and emotional support whenever it is needed. It gives me a feeling of fulfilment to be able to help others. Having lived in India, England and Nigeria I feel I have experienced and seen poverty at all levels and these experiences have had a profound effect on my life. I spent the best years of my life raising my four children, such wonderful souls they are too. For some time I went into recruitment and found that it did put bread and butter on the table but it was not at all fulfilling. Finally I was led into Reiki by a series of events that started with me ‘accidently’ bumping into a friend whom I had not seen for over fifteen years, and having led me towards Reiki I have not seen much of her since. I did level one with Reiki Master Dashna Vadera, who is one of the gentlest and loving souls I have ever had the privilege of meeting. As I sat in the classroom I knew that at last I had found what I had been searching for, this was my calling, and as soon as I had had my first attunement and I started practicing Reiki on friends and family, the feedback was so amazing that I knew (If I had any doubt) that Reiki was my path. I went to do level two and with this I had another attunement which made the Reiki even more powerful. By now Reiki had completely changed my life, my outlook on my families illnesses changed considerably, when they now complain that they are not feeling well, I give them a reiki treatment and most times they get relief from their symptoms. During my work as a Reiki practitioner I have been asked to treat a variety of illnesses mental and physical, I have worked with adults and children as well as pregnant women. I have treated mental illnesses such as stress, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, insomnia as well as physical illnesses such as migraines, diabetes, high blood pressure, period problems, bodily aches and pains and many more. With a course of Reiki treatments all of the above conditions have improved considerably. I absolutely love doing Reiki treatments and look forward to meeting my clients, I feel truly humbled and blessed to have been chosen to become a Reiki master. My clients report a feeling of peace and wellbeing that they have never felt before. A feeling of clarity, a feeling of being re-energised and rejuvenated! Wow all that from just lying on a couch with a Reiki practitioner just laying their hands on you! All I can think of these days is ‘why did I not know about this before?’ well the universe has its timings for everything and I am truly thankful to the universe for guiding me to Reiki. Reiki has given me a totally new outlook on life, I now know I am on my journey of self discovery, I feel totally connected to the universal energy. I now have a feeling of inner peace.
