How are braces installed on teeth?

For fixed braces, the orthodontist dries the teeth and places glue or bonding cement on the braces. The braces are placed on teeth and a UV light is shone on them to cure the glue or cement. For removable braces, an impression of the teeth is taken and a technician makes the removable brace consisting of a plastic plate and wires. The brace is then fitted on teeth.

How do braces work on teeth?

Braces exert a steady pressure on teeth. The pressure is periodically adjusted as needed by the orthodontist. Eventually the pressure exerted by braces corrects the alignment of teeth.

Do braces hurt?

Braces are uncomfortable when first placed on teeth. Patients experience soreness and need to get used to the pressure exerted on the teeth by braces. Patients normally get used to braces within a month.

I am a new patient at the practice very nervous and worried. These were all put aside straight away from the receptionist she was so nice kind and helpful like speaking with my mam she was. Polly and her assistant did my treatment and asked me regularly if I was ok nothing was too much trouble. The best place I have ever been to great car park at the back. Perfection from start to finish. Excellent qualified staff, dentists, nurses, reception, all lovely, polite, respectful. High quality practice with all the modern technology to hand. I chose K3 on word of mouth from friends who have had treatment & there outstanding reviews. There prices are very competitive & @ my consultation everything was explained to me in detail, what stood out @ no point was I pressured into any treatment, it was about my needs & what worked for me. I came to this dentist just after the start of lockdown when my own NHS dentist ruined my bridge at the front. I looked into having implants and came for a consultation. Dr Hamid was fantastic and listened to what I wanted. I had a 3D scan and treatment plan drawn up. I had to have a bone transplant due to my jaw bone density not being sufficient enough for the implant. I have had 4 teeth replaced at the front following a childhood accident that has haunted me all my life. Dr Hamid his assistant and receptionist can not do enough for you. My treatment has finished and I am so happy I can smile again with confidence. I will not go anywhere else. If you thinking about implants or cosmetic dental surgery without a doubt they are the best. Not pushy, listen to you, kind and caring. Absolutely fantastic!!
