I went to see Dr Nikolaos Kasiteridis at Forest and Ray as I was having complex problems with some upper teeth, including a front tooth, a difficult situation for anyone! I am extremely grateful to Dr Nikolaos who was a marvel; he went the extra mile for me as a dentist who wants the best possible outcome for his patient’s health, at the same time incorporating high technical ability with cosmetic expertise. I can safely say that Dr Nikolaos excels in all these areas, his wealth of experience and long service to the practice speak for themselves, and he is a real professional. The bone grafting procedure is quick and straightforward, but it can take up to six months to cure. The bone graft surgery will last 30 minutes to an hour and is an intrusive procedure in which your gums will be opened, and the bone grafting material, as well as the dental implant, will be put into the jawbone. Under anesthesia, this surgery is performed consciously. The area will be sewn, and the bone grafting material will be allowed to integrate with your jawbone's cells.What is the purpose of a bone graft? A bone graft is required when there is insufficient bone material in your jaw to support a dental implant. After losing a tooth, the alveolus steadily disintegrates over time, and the bone density of the jaw reduces substantially, necessitating a bone transplant if the tooth is to be replaced.
