Bone Graft

The bone grafting procedure is quick and straightforward, but it can take up to six months to cure. The bone graft surgery will last 30 minutes to an hour and is an intrusive procedure in which your gums will be opened, and the bone grafting material, as well as the dental implant, will be put into the jawbone. Under anesthesia, this surgery is performed consciously. The area will be sewn, and the bone grafting material will be allowed to integrate with your jawbone's cells.

What is the purpose of a bone graft? A bone graft is required when there is insufficient bone material in your jaw to support a dental implant. After losing a tooth, the alveolus steadily disintegrates over time, and the bone density of the jaw reduces substantially, necessitating a bone transplant if the tooth is to be replaced. Before the surgery, your dentist will perform an X-ray and a hygiene session.

Braces

Braces - Dental ArtistryBraces - Dental Artistry
Dental Artistry is well-known for our exceptional orthodontic treatments. We offer patients the

latest selection of high-quality braces such as Lingual Braces (Win systems), Labial Braces, Ceramic Braces, Damon Advanced Bracket Systems.

Fixed braces is a convenient solution for patients as it allows a continuous tooth straightening process. Your doctor is able to adjust your braces as regular as necessary. The fixed braces do not require patients to take them off, clean them and thus potentially wear their braces less than necessary. Having a variety of techniques and excellent know-how we are able to offer our patients the most suitable method to achieve their desired goal.

Adult Braces

Orthodontic braces are not just for children and teenagers. An increasing number of adults are seeking orthodontic treatment to improve their dental health, appearance, and self-confidence. Orthodontic braces for adults work the same way as braces for children and teenagers. It may require longer treatment times due to the natural changes in adult teeth and bones.

Orthodontic braces for adults can correct a wide range of dental issues, including crooked teeth, crowded teeth, gaps between teeth, overbites, underbites, and crossbites. Furthermore, braces address problems with jaw alignment and alleviate discomfort or pain associated with these issues. Adults have several options for orthodontic braces, including traditional metal braces, ceramic braces, lingual braces (braces attached to the back of the teeth), and clear aligners (such as Invisalign or Spark Aligners). Your orthodontist can recommend the best option for your individual needs.

Orthodontic treatment with braces for adults requires a commitment to good oral hygiene and regular visits to the orthodontist for adjustments. Adults who are considering orthodontic treatment should consult with an orthodontist to discuss their options and develop a treatment plan that works best for them.

Ceramic Braces

Aesthetic braces are used to correct biting disorders, close gaps between teeth, straighten crooked teeth (which will become easier to clean after the treatment), and improve your smile's appearance. There is no age limit for orthodontics: after the jaws have finished growing, the orthodontic treatment can guide your teeth to a more favorable position to reach the best functional and aesthetic results.

If your orthodontic treatment at Forest and Ray cannot be supported by using aligners or if you would like to avoid the responsibility of having a removable appliance, aesthetic fixed braces may be the right choice for you.

Advantages of aesthetic braces: tooth-colored, aesthetic, small brackets, comfortable to wear, and capable of correcting most orthodontic problems, just like metal braces.

These appliances combine the effectiveness of traditional metal braces with the great advantage of a spotless look provided by clear brackets. They handle any problems that traditional fixed braces handle and are functionally the same. The only difference is that they are discreet, look smart, and are not associated with childhood. The white or transparent brackets blend into your natural tooth color perfectly, giving you the confidence to smile without anyone noticing you are wearing them.

Child Braces

Orthodontic treatment is indicated for kids to correct biting difficulties and crowded or crooked teeth in order to improve appearance. It is meant to avoid or block dental problems and make eventual treatment less challenging depending on the child's age and whether the jaws and face have finished growing.

Because the jawbones and face are still evolving, orthodontic treatment for children can differ significantly from adults. Some problems can be treated much more effectively at a younger age; therefore, it is critical to take your child to the dentist regularly, even if the permanent teeth are not visible yet.

Early orthodontic treatment can begin as early as the age of 6-7, potentially eliminating the need for more drastic treatment later on. There is something else to consider at this age: it is highly suggested that you tell your young children that there is no reason to be afraid of the dentist because dentists will help them keep their teeth healthy and their smile bright.

Clear Braces

Clear aligners are orthodontic teeth guards that help correct minor malocclusions. They are used when the orthodontic issue that has to be fixed is not severe enough to require traditional orthodontic braces.

Clear aligners are removable orthodontic braces that are gaining popularity in the ever-expanding field of adult orthodontics. They can be removed anytime, which many professionals consider essential daily. They are also a highly aesthetically pleasing solution because they are clear, transparent, and only visible under close inspection. Invisalign is the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about clear aligners. It is the same as not wearing anything. However, other clear aligner treatments, such as the Spark Aligner system, provide excellent results. Let us have a look at these teeth-straightening

Lingual Braces

Lingual braces

work similarly to traditional braces, using brackets, wires, and sometimes plastic bands to move the teeth. However, the brackets are placed on the inside of the teeth instead of the outside. The word "lingual" in dentistry means "toward the tongue." This way, the braces can only be seen if you open your mouth extra wide.

Metal Braces

Fixed metal braces are our dental practice's most often-used orthodontic system. They are sometimes referred to as traditional braces. They are inexpensive and capable of addressing the majority of orthodontic issues. They may provide a less aesthetically pleasing appearance throughout treatment. However, they are the most efficient and cost-effective solution to align your teeth with fixed braces, even if they are not the most aesthetically pleasing option on the market today. It is currently the most extensively used appliance, with excellent results: elastic bands and brackets in various colors to display your individuality. While aligners cannot solve certain cases and removable devices are time-consuming, a fixed metal brace can handle all orthodontic problems since it applies consistent pressure to your teeth 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Your orthodontist will have complete control over the movement of your teeth with metal braces.

Orthodontic Retainer

An orthodontic retainer is a device used after orthodontic treatment to help maintain the position of the teeth and prevent them from shifting back. Retainers are custom-made to fit the individual patient's teeth. They are usually made of plastic or a combination of plastic and wire.

There are two main types of orthodontic retainers: fixed and removable. Fixed retainers consist of a thin wire bonded to the back of the teeth, commonly on the lower front teeth. This wire is invisible from the front and is designed to remain in place for several years or even permanently.

Removable retainers can be taken out by the patient for cleaning and eating. They are usually made of clear plastic or acrylic and fit over the teeth like a mouthguard. Patients will be instructed to wear their removable retainers day or night, depending on the recommendation of their orthodontist.

Orthodontic retainers are an important part of orthodontic treatment as they maintain the results achieved by braces or other orthodontic appliances. Patients must follow the instructions of their orthodontist regarding the wear and care of their retainers to prevent the teeth from shifting and the need for additional orthodontic treatment.

Removable Braces

Removable braces, or clear aligners, are orthodontic appliances the patient can remove. They are made of clear plastic and are custom-fit to the patient's teeth using advanced 3D scanning and modeling technology.

Removable braces are designed to gradually shift the teeth into the desired position over time, much like traditional braces. However, unlike conventional braces, they do not use brackets and wires. Instead, the clear aligners are changed every few weeks to shift the teeth into the desired position gradually.

Removable braces are a popular option for orthodontic treatment for several reasons:

  1. They are virtually invisible, making them a more aesthetically pleasing option than traditional braces.

  2. They are more comfortable than conventional braces because they do not have brackets and wires that can irritate the cheeks and lips.

  3. They are removable, meaning patients can continue to eat their favourite foods and maintain good oral hygiene by brushing and flossing normally.

However, there may be better options than removable braces for everyone. They are generally most effective for treating mild to moderate cases of tooth misalignment. They may not be suitable for more complex orthodontic issues. Patients must also be committed to wearing their aligners as directed by their orthodontist, typically for 20-22 hours per day, to achieve the desired results.

Cosmetic dentistry is an umbrella term for a variety of dental operations. They all have one thing in common: they aim to make your teeth seem better. This feature connects all of these operations. Certain procedures that are occasionally listed in various categories but have a good influence on the appearance of your teeth will also be mentioned. The following is a comprehensive list of all cosmetic dental procedures.

A beautiful, healthy smile may go a long way, and Forest and Ray Dental will help you keep it for life. It is crucial to us that all of our patients feel entire confidence in their smiles, and there is no dental problem that we cannot solve! Composite Bonding

Composite Bonding - Dental ArtistryComposite Bonding - Dental Artistry
Composite bonding, also known as tooth contouring, is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure. It is a quick solution to improve the teeth’s appearance. The treatment involves applying a restorative material, the so-called composite resin, to the tooth or tooth surface. The material comes in a variety of shades to match your natural teeth. Our cosmetic dentist is able to match the shade, translucency, and texture of your natural tooth. Your dentist works only with the outer enamel which has no sensation, in other words, the process is pain-free.

Dental Crowns

Porcelain Veneers and Crowns are specifically suitable for patients who have cosmetic concerns and are simply looking for a way to improve the appearance of their teeth while their smile still looks natural. Many patients have real ongoing and visible issues such as gaps in between teeth, small or too big teeth, too short teeth, crooked, crowded teeth, worn out teeth or discoloured teeth.

Patients chose to continue to Porcelain Veneers and Crowns as a follow-up treatment after Gum disease, gummy smile and root canal treatment. Veneers, in particular, are favoured by many patients who would like a whiter smile. Porcelain Veneers do not stain and so prove to be a better alternative to preserve whiter teeth.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are the best option for replacing your missing teeth. In fact, dental implants are the latest dental replacements dentistry can offer. However, even though they function and feel just like natural teeth and do not suffer from the weaknesses of the other options, they are expensive and are not affordable by everyone. Although, as per my thinking dental implants are still quite cost effective in view of the quality of life they permit. If, for some reason you cannot be given implants, or you do not want to choose implants, I am discussing some of the other teeth replacement options that you can consider:

- Tooth supported bridge: The replacement tooth (pontic) is supported on crowns placed on healthy teeth on either side.

- Removable partial dentures: The dentures sit on the gum, and take support by suction or adhesive. Grinding down of the adjacent teeth is not required.

- Maryland bridges or resin-bonded bridges are used where too much chewing stress is not expected, ie, in restoring a lost front tooth.

- Replacing multiple teeth: If you want to replace just one or two teeth a fixed bridge is possible as alternative to implants.

- Replacing all teeth: The alternative to implants is the complete removable denture (conventional denture).

All-on-4 Dental Implants

"All-on-4" term refers to “all” teeth being supported “on four” dental implants. As a result, just 4 implants can replace all teeth in your upper or lower jaw even in a day!

The first step is a thorough consultation at Forest & Ray, where the implantologist explains the procedure, examines your teeth, makes an X-ray, and refers you to a CT scan. We carefully assess all the information. If you are eligible for the treatment and happy with our proposal, we can book you for the implant placement.

On the day of the surgery all 4 implants are inserted in the morning. The procedure is easy and painless (implants are inserted under local anaesthetic) and safe for your health. Our technician will work hard to get your teeth done and within a few hours, you will leave with your brand new smile.

The ultimate healing time, when the implants incorporate into your jawbone, is around 3 months. During this time you will see us a couple of times to monitor your progress. After the healing time, we will prepare your permanent teeth within a few short appointments to make you smile happily every day.

Dental X-Ray

A dental X-ray is a necessary procedure for many dental treatments. They may become essential if you plan on getting endodontics, meaning root canal treatments and any other treatments dealing with the inside of the teeth, dental implants, tooth extractions (especially wisdom teeth removal) and most oral surgery procedures. Because things change in your mouth very quickly, dental X-rays older than three months cannot be used for dental treatment. There are basically three different kinds of X-rays to choose from.

- Single tooth X-rays

- Bitewings

- OPG X-ray

While all X-rays are carcinogenic, they are no more harmful to your health than a walk through any European city that follows car traffic. The idea that X-rays are harmful has been hyped out of proportion on the internet, and many people are afraid of getting dental X-rays. They are necessary, and having an active bacterial infection in your mouth is a thousand times worse than a short blast of gamma radiation every few years.

Dentist Consultation

A dental consultation is the first meeting with our dental staff. They will examine your mouth to diagnose any issues and create a treatment plan for you. This plan will outline the treatments the dentist recommends.

During the consultation, you'll get to know your dentist and ask any questions you may have. This is important because, without a consultation, the dentist can't proceed with any treatment. The consultation is the basis for the dentist to understand the issues with your teeth, what treatment is necessary, and the cost of the treatment. This information is written down in a treatment plan, which is essential for both the dentist and the patient.

The consultation allows you to ask any questions and express any concerns you may have. This helps you make an informed decision about whether to proceed with the treatment.

Your first consultation with your dentist may take a little longer than the usual 45 minutes. During this time, your dentist will ask about your medical history, so it's important to be honest.

They will also examine your teeth and may even check the soft tissues of your mouth to ensure everything is in good condition and make a proper diagnosis. However, no treatment will start without further discussion with your dentist.

Dentures

Dentures are rows of artificial teeth or dental crowns, that are meant to replace an entire row of teeth, or most of one that has been missing. Dentures are not attached to natural teeth, dentures can come in a variety of materials, and can be made with or without an artificial gum material to anchor the row of crowns. Usually, dentures are removable, and are adhered or the force of suction keeps them in place, or they are attached to a bite plate that goes over the roof of the mouth. But they can also be attached to dental implants, and can be removable or fixed.

Root canal treatment is an endodontic treatment recommended when the root of the tooth becomes infected through tooth decay or damaged by an injury to your mouth. This infection can spread through the root canal systems, including the nerves which carry the blood supply in the tooth. If the nerves become infected they will die and in turn so will the tooth. Once there is no blood supply to the tooth, it is at more risk of infection. This can lead to severe discomfort and abscess. If a root canal treatment is not carried out, the tooth may need to be taken out.

The early stages of root problems tend to go unnoticed that is why we actively encourage patients to do their regular check-up and ensure their is no hidden problem that can cause further and much more advanced issues.

Extractions

When there is too much damage for the tooth to be repaired, the tooth may need to be extracted — or removed — from its socket in the bone. Tooth extraction is performed by a trusted Forest & Ray dentist or dental surgeon and is a quick outpatient procedure with either local or general anaesthesia.

Wisdom Tooth Extraction

Wisdom teeth removal is recommended when there is not enough room for the wisdom teeth to grow properly, and they become stuck within your jaw. In other cases wisdom teeth start growing at an angle to other teeth, pushing the neighbouring molars and often causing pain, swelling and bite problems. In most cases, a wisdom tooth is uncomfortable and painful, pushing against your set of teeth.

The experience with wisdom teeth is different for everyone. For some of us, wisdom teeth can erupt without any problem. For many of us, on the other hand, wisdom teeth can cause a huge amount of pain and discomfort in some cases, even resulting in inflammation or infection.

Wisdom teeth are located at the back of the mouth, and often they are called third molars. They are the final teeth to erupt and usually appear between your late teens and mid-twenties. When they are not in the right position or when there is not enough room for them to erupt, they can emerge only partially, providing a place for bacteria to grow.

If your wisdom tooth is growing irregularly, is positioned horizontally or is angled toward or away from the neighbouring tooth, the procedure will be done by an oral surgeon due to its complexity. The surgeon opens your gum with a small cut, extracts the wisdom teeth and sews the wound. This process is also painless; the operation is done under local anaesthetic.

Fillings

A tooth filling is a basic reconstructive dental procedure. The most basic unit of conservative dentistry, tooth fillings, is a dental procedure that everyone has heard about. Around 75-80% of adults have tooth fillings, so it is the most popular and well-known method of trying to preserve teeth and heal them back to functionality. They are used before problems with the teeth become severe but when intervention is already needed. They basically seal off the damaged tooth and repair it so that it can be used again without fear of further damage. Dental fillings can become necessary despite a vigorous at-home oral hygiene routine.

Composite fillings are tiny pieces of composite resin that are inserted into a cavity on a tooth to seal it off later and to prevent the tooth enamel from decaying further. Getting a dental filling takes about half an hour to about an hour and a half, depending on how damaged the tooth is, where the cavity is, and how easy it is to get to.

Amalgam fillings are bad news because they can cause brain damage and cancer and can constantly weaken the immune system slightly, thus making you overall more prone to infections and less able to fight off microbes and infections.

The fillings we use instead are made of a composite artificial resin. This material hardens and sticks to teeth, does not lose weight like amalgam fillings, and does not leach mercury.

Sinus Lift

Sinus Lift: a rare oral surgical procedure, sinus lifts are performed only on the upper jaw and on the teeth near the sinus cavity. If an upper canine has been missing for a long time, the tissue between the sinuses and the oral cavity will become thinner and unable to house a dental implant. In these cases, the dental implants may actually poke out into the sinus cavity. This is unhealthy and potentially dangerous, leading to a higher risk of infections. This is where a sinus lift comes in. It is the surgical augmentation of the sinuses, making them somewhat smaller and providing a layer where the dental implant can be housed in.

The procedure is fairly simple. It takes roughly 45 minutes and involves invasive oral surgery. One of the upper quadrants will be opened while you are under local anaesthesia. After that, your dentist will insert some bone grafting material into the bottom of the sinus cavity, which will later integrate and make your bone grow and strengthen. The entire area will be sewn shut, and you will be left to heal for around six months

Teeth Cleaning

Teeth Polishing

Teeth Cleaning

Teeth cleaning—usually performed by a dental hygienist– is a very effective procedure for removing tartar (mineralized plaque) that may develop even with careful brushing and flossing, especially in areas that are difficult to reach in routine brushing. Because it is essential to remove the tartar below the gum line and above it, getting your teeth professionally cleaned by a dental hygienist at least twice a year is a must.

Teeth cleaning with special dental tools removes harmful plaque, calculus (hardened plaque), and bacteria that can’t be removed at home by simply brushing or flossing– regardless of how vigorously you brush or floss. Professional teeth cleaning will include tooth scaling and root planning and tooth polishing and debridement if too much tartar has accumulated and can prevent cavities, gingivitis, and periodontal disease.

The shortest hygiene session is around 20 minutes, while the longest lasts about one hour but is reserved for only the most extreme cases, and these sessions can last shorter the more frequently you get them. As a true time saver, we recommend getting the treatment every half-year check-up, which is a necessary part of your oral health and is highly recommended.

The best you can do is to see a dental hygienist near you to get proper advice on maintaining good oral health!
