ISTANBUL KENT UNIVERSITY DENTAL HOSPITAL

I am from London UK. I had issues with my upper front tooth which was slightly wobbly and this had created a gap in the front of my teeth. It became difficult to eat and I needed a solution that was time and cost-effective. I had visited lots of dentists and periodontists in London looking for the right solution and I was unable to find one so I searched in Turkey. There are dozens of dental clinics in Turkey so it took me time and energy trying to find a dental surgery I could trust. When I found Kent Dental University Hospital Istanbul I knew I had found a dental practice which put my health first. They listened to what I wanted and after my treatment had finished I was super impressed not only with how it looked but how quickly and efficiently they were able to complete my treatment. I am very grateful to Kent Dental University Hospital for the time and care they have given me. I feel confident that I have found a dentist for life.

I visited Istanbul Kent University Dental Hospital on August 5th 2024 to get 3 implants and a bone graft. From my first contact to the last my experience was very good. I have scheduled initial consultation via email as I was coming from the US and everything at the Hospital was ready for my arrival. Mr. Atakan Sumer, my translator, was very helpful and made sure I understood my options for treatment, and everything about the procedures. The operation was organized very efficiently on the same day, and took about 2 hours. I got prescription for antibiotics, pain medicine, mouthwash and nasal spray, and Mr. Atakan was kind enough to walk with me to the drug store to fill the prescription. He contacted me afterwards to make sure I was feeling ok after operation, and I am happy to say that a month later my mouth is healing nicely, and I am looking forward to getting crowns installed during my next visit to Istanbul Kent University Dental Hospital.

I went to Kent to have two white fillings done as well as a scale and polish. The facilities available are quite impressive, and I has given a x-ray as part of the free consultation before being given a written, costed treatment plan to accept or decline.
I was apprehensive about seeking treatment abroad, but my translator, Atakan, was very informative and helpful in the lead-up to the appointment.

Dr Akdereli completed the work. Unfortunately for me, the cleaning revealed further signs of decay on other teeth, which were previously hidden by plaque build-up. I was shown the areas of decay using a camera. He then offered to stick to the original treatment plan, complete all the fillings I needed on one side, or complete all on both sides for which I would need to pay the difference.

I opted to have fillings completed on one side of my mouth so I wouldn’t be numb from anaesthetic across my whole face.
Dr Akdereli completed the three fillings within half a hour with no pain except for one tooth where I experienced some discomfort due to the depth of the filling, which is to be expected.

No visit to the dentist is ever a positive experience for me as I am an incredibly nervous patient, but I had a substantial amount of work done with minimal pain, and made a large saving compared to the UK. They even price-matched my dental clinic at home with the cost of the polish, as this was originally more expensive here.

What would improve my experience realistically would be being informed of what stage of the treatment is taking place by the dentist whilst undergoing treatment. After 20 minutes, I was under the impression I was still having the first filling done, which made me panic. Dr Akdereli reassured me through our translator at this point that he was about to complete the last filling, to my pleasant surprise. He even spoke to me briefly in German, which I can speak partially to lighten the mood.

I left the appointment feeling quite stunned - something which is normal for me if I have anything beyond a small filling done - Atakan sat with me in the sun until I had composed myself after the appointment.

Whilst I didn’t travel to Istanbul specifically to have dental work done, I would consider returning to Kent in the future. My only hope is that the fillings last a substantial period of time, as I am writing this five days after the appointment. I have no pain in any of the teeth, the fillings are the right height, and I only have minor sensitivity to cold which is to be expected for a couple of weeks.

All things considered, this was a generally positive experience.

I had an appointment at the clinic and I came from Denmark. Mr. Atakan the Clinic assistant was very helpful and kind, making sure I had a good experience. Although I had a small injury from the treatment because the young dentist was a bit too rough, it has since improved. I hope the dentist takes more care in the future. Overall, it's a good clinic - clean and well-maintained.

I just had some dental work done at this place, and honestly, I'm really happy with how it all went. The place is super clean, and everyone there is so nice. The dentists really knew their stuff and made sure I understood everything. They were gentle too, which was great because I was a bit nervous. The staff were awesome too, always checking if I needed anything. Overall, I'd totally recommend this place for anyone needing dental work. They really take good care of you!

I was suffering from dental plaques for a while that was causing me a lot of problems such as bleeding during brushing, and that was when I decided to look for a dentist, luckily I came across Istanbul Kent University Dental Hospital, and as soon as I stepped in, it was professionalism like I had never seen before. The doctors recommended removing the plaques before they could damage my gums any further. The procedure went smoothly, and there was minimal discomfort afterwards. It's been two weeks and my teeth feel amazing and no longer bleed when brushing. I recommend Istanbul Kent University Dental Hospital.
