The Bleaching process conducted by the dentist (in-office bleaching) involves the use of hydrogen peroxide, or carbamide peroxide (15-50% concentration), blue light / cool light, or laser treatment to stimulatethe effectiveness of the bleaching gel. The sensitive gum tissue is protected from possible allergic reaction to the bleaching gel. The bleaching treatment normally takes about 1-3 hours before the discolored teeth become white.
