How does it work?Plasma Fibroblast creates a controlled dermal wound to promote, encourage and initiate the body’s natural healing response. At Equinox Clinic we utilise the last generation of Beierplasm K85 which is the first continuous working plasma lift in the world. Plasma Fibroblast works similarly to an ablative (fractional) laser. Plasma Fibroblast uses a scientifically-crafted hand piece designed to ionize gases (plasma) in the air creating a small arc. Plasma is created as the arc touches the skin, transmitting heat to the papillary layer of tissue where the fibroblast cells are located.  The plasma-created heat causes the affected tissue to contract and in turn tighten the skin. The fractional tip does not affect the skin cell tissue but only sublimates the skin surface and contract the skin by creating small dot shapes in the treatment area. That’s when the real magic of this treatment happens, your skins natural healing processes go into overdrive and encourage fresh cells, including collagen and elastin, to be produced. Excess skin and fatty tissue in the upper arms may be surgically removed to improve the shape of the arms and improve the fit of clothing. Excess skin is removed and tailored to fit the smaller body underneath. The improvement in arm shape is exchanged for scars where the skin is removed. Incisions are placed on the inside of the arm which hides them when the arm is by your side but they are visible when your arm is lifted up (when waving). In appropriate cases, small reductions can be performed with a scar concealed in the armpit. Arm lifts are performed under general anaesthetic in a private hospital. Complications of surgery include long or visible scars, wound healing problems, stretched scars, residual folds of skin or stretch marks, and stretching of skin post operatively due to loss of elasticity in the skin.

Cartilage and bone of the nose can be re-shaped to improve shape and function. This can correct a natural, but large, dorsal hump or tip; or repair an injured nose. A shared understanding between patient and surgeon is essential for successful rhinoplasty surgery. When a large or obvious deformity is present, good improvements are possible in most cases. Smaller, subtle changes are more challenging to achieve and may be less satisfying for a patient. There is no perfect nose or face, but harmony between the nose and face is achieved by balance. If you have functional nasal problems, these may be corrected or worsened by rhinoplasty surgery. Other complications include bruising, swelling, asymmetry, dissatisfaction with the look of the nose, need for re-operation or revision.

Arm Wedge Excision (Brachioplasty)When we age or lose significant weight, the skin on the upper arm can lose elasticity & tend to sag. This look also known as “tuckshop arms” can be an area that women are unable to improve with exercise.A brachioplasty or ‘arm lift’ allows Dr Doyle to reshape and remove excess skin and fat from the armpit to the elbow. This surgical procedure is done under general anaesthetic and is done by making an incision on the inner surface of the upper arm. Excess skin & tissue is removed and underlying muscles are tightened with sutures creating a smoother more defined shape of the upper arm. Often done as a day procedure but can be overnight if you wish.There is an item number for this procedure so medicare & health insurance rebates may apply. Rhinoplasty can straighten a nose, change the shape of all parts of the nose and improve breathing difficulties.  This procedure can attract Medicare and Health Insurance rebates in some patients, particularly if the procedure is done to correct problems from an injury or there are breathing issues. During your consultation Dr. Doyle uses digital imagery to give you a personal preview of the difference your new nose could make to your appearance. Rhinoplasty is performed under general anesthesia and normally takes 1 to 2 hours to complete. It is a day stay in hospital and you will have a splint on your nose that will need to be removed by our nurses at 5-7 days post operation.  Normal activity can be resumed in 2 to 3 weeks.
