His staff mirrors his professionalism perfectlyTimothy, Australia, 02 10 24

My vocabulary falls short of describing just how unbelievably painless my procedure was. Dr. Kemp explained every detail of the process, yet there remained an indescribable brilliance in the way the veins disappeared — almost like magic. His staff mirrors his professionalism perfectly.

The Vein Institute - Beauty Salon in Australia

The Vein Institute

56 Burwood Rd Burwood, Sydney, 2134
specialises in the treatment of Varicose and Spider leg veins. Varicose veins are more than a cosmetic concern. The may lead to circulation issues if untreated.  All of our treatments do not involve any surgery, allowing you to "walk in" and "walk out". What Symptoms Could I Have? Generally vein pain can be associated with a dull ache or heaviness. Swelling or itching of the legs at the end of the day can also occur. Rarely a brown pigment can be seen around the veins. What Will Happen During My First Visit? One of our doctors will take a medical history and listen to your concerns before performing a scan and letting you know whether you have varicose vein disease. A discussion of your treatment options will also happen.   Why Do I Need a Scan? Varicose veins are easy to diagnose on the surface but require a specialised safe scan (known as ultrasound) to assess deeper varicose veins which cannot be seen from the skin. These scans do not require any preparation and will be performed on your first visit.   Do I really need treatment? Every case is different, and you need to discuss your personal circumstances with one of our highly skilled Doctors. Apart from the symptoms that present with varicose veins, they can be unsightly too. There are some veins that can cause medical symptoms, and again we strongly suggest you discussing your case with our doctors.   Your treatment outcomes To bring your vascular

Endovenous Laser Therapy
Endovenous laser is the most exciting recent breakthrough in the treatment of large varicose leg veins. This procedure has become available worldwide during the past decade, and Dr McMaster is the first Brisbane based doctor to introduce endovenous laser treatment. Endovenous laser  is used to treat large “trunk” varicose veins which underlie the grape like veins that can appear on the lower legs. During this procedure, a thin laser  fibre is introduced into the vein through a needle, and is passed along the full length of the vein under ultrasound guidance. Under local anaesthetic, the fibre then seals the vein using a heating process. Studies have shown this procedure to be at least as effective as surgery for large varicose veins, with only a fraction of the pain, only one scar 3-4mm in length and minimal down time. There is no need for general anaesthesia or hospital admission. It is usually necessary to complete the varicose vein treatment with ultrasound guided sclerotherapy several weeks after the laser treatment. There is now a Medicare item number for this treatment.
