About Nikki Hawkes Acupuncture
Nikki Hawkes is a fully qualified acupuncturist registered with the Acupuncture-Acutherapy Council for Acupuncture and Microsystems Acupuncture. These therapies can be used separately or together for a wide range of health problems. Acupuncture is probably better known for relieving pain such as back pain, sciatica, neck pain, knee pain, tennis elbow or shoulder pain, caused by conditions such as arthritis or due to injury, for example from playing sports. But acupuncture can also help with problems such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, addictions, headaches or migraine, period pain, infertility, hay fever and nausea and more besides. If you are unsure whether acupuncture may be able to help you the World Health Organisation has produced a list of conditions which it considers are treatable by acupuncture and the list has been reproduced on Nikki's website, and can be found under 'treatable conditions'.
The Holistic Health Centre is a small and friendly complementary health clinic in a village location. Parking is available.
An acupuncture appointment usually lasts for about an hour, slightly longer for the first appointment. After an initial discussion, a number of needles will be inserted as required and then you can sit or lie quietly for the treatment to take effect. Most people find this a very relaxing experience and many people fall asleep during this time. All the needles used are sterile and single use, being disposed of immediately after the treatment.
