I went to see Tony at A W Physio summer of 2019 as I had constant lower back pain from facet joint degeneration which I have had for several years (I am 61 years of age). I have tried many treatments over the years but after seeing Tony for acupuncture and ultrasound my pain is much reduced. He gave me exercises to strengthen my core and so alot of it is down to me now to discipline myself to do them as I know the longer-term outcome is dependent on this strength work. Tony is a lovely guy, will make you feel at ease and wants to help. I would certainly recommend his clinic.

Acupuncture is a safe and effective practice, which can be used alongside conventional medicine in the treatment of acute and chronic conditions. Some people may choose to have acupuncture as a preventative measure to strengthen their constitution, or because they feel unwell in themselves without being ill in the Western sense. Traditional acupuncture is an ancient Chinese system of healing which enables a person to achieve a more balanced physical and emotional state. Its philosophy is that in good health there is a continuous smooth flow of energy (Qi or Chi) through channels within the body. Illnesses, injury or emotional stress can disturb the smooth flow of Qi, leading to range of symptoms and often the loss of a sense of well-being. The acupuncturist aims to balance the flow of Qi by inserting fine needles into specific points on the body. A person receiving acupuncture will often report both an improvement in symptoms and an increased sense of well-being. As with any therapy, the response to acupuncture can vary from one person to another.

This clinic is located in Sutton Bonington, Leicestershire . In the first visit which lasts an hour and half a detailed case history is taken to diagnose the problem suffered by the patient and treatment is given. Patients are treated in subsequent 45 minute acupuncture sessions the number of which, depends on the length of time you have had the condition and how you respond to treatment. Anne will advise you about this after she has discussed your individual case with you. Other treatments which may be incorporated into the acupuncture treatment are moxibustion, electro-acupuncture, acupressure, massage, cupping and reiki. Anne is also a Chinese herbal medicine practitioner and the consultation for herbs is similar to the acupuncture consultation and sometimes it is suggested that herbs are used alongside acupuncture. A range of ailments can be treated with acupuncture amongst which are musculoskeletal disorders, neurological conditions, psychological conditions and pregnancy and fertility related issues.
