About Dr. Sherylin Thompson
I work generally with individuals facing common human struggles and couples wanting to resolve their difficulties. My clients come from a range of different backgrounds and are also diverse in culture, ethnicity and sexuality. We all go through rocky periods in our lives and therapy can help you smooth a way forward. Some examples of how therapy can help you move through difficulties include:• Understanding what might be causing problems and repetitive patterns.• Clarifying what direction you want to take in your life.• Exploring problems with intimate relationships or family members.• Overcoming trauma - be it from childhood or more recently.• Coping with loss and bereavement.• Managing workplace issues such as stress, bullying and career decisions. In particular, I have worked extensively with bereavement, domestic violence and adult survivors of childhood abuse. In addition, examples of my experience include stress, identity issues, panic disorders, eating disorders and self-harm, anxiety and depression. Some clients want to concentrate on current problems they are struggling to resolve on their own; and others have realised that the same old problems repeat and cycle in very familiar and destructive patterns. Some clients therefore want therapy for just a few sessions to help them through a difficult time; while others want to work longer term to tackle more deep-seated and long-standing difficulties.
The practice is a five-minute walk from Cabot Square, eight minutes from Canary Wharf Underground Station (Jubilee Line) and around 4 minutes from West India Quay and Westferry DLR stations. This is less than a 15-minute journey from London Bridge, Bank, Tower Hill, Greenwich and Stratford.
