Carmel Farnan began her working career as a Business Analyst, after graduating from Griffith College Dublin. However, despite success in that career, she felt unfulfilled and decided to follow her true passion: discovering how the mind works. She qualified as a Psychotherapist and Counsellor in 2001 and is registered and accredited with IAHM, adhering to their Code of Ethics and Practices. Carmel also provides Counselling Supervision to trainee Psychotherapists and Counsellors.
To help clients obtain quick, effective and long-lasting results, Carmel completed post-graduate studies in Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Research shows this type of therapy successfully resolves issues in 4 to 5 sessions for 83% of clients. Carmel is one of the few therapists in Ireland to have trained in this type of client focused therapy.
Although fully qualified and accredited for 12 years, Carmel continually improves her service through study and professional development. Pursuing her desire to train as a psychologist Carmel initially studied psychology at the Open University, obtaining first-class honours in all her studies. She is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Psychology Degree, through Derby University thus providing clients with the most up to date psychological knowledge available, thereby allowing clients obtain the best possible results in the least possible time.
