Physiotherapist Biography:
I have been a Chartered Physiotherapist for more than 20 years. I have had experience in working in a varied clinical environment with many other health care professionals. My career has spanned both the NHS, Private Sector in addition to Charitable Trusts. My areas of particular expertise include: Acquired brain injury in adults and paediatrics: This often involves working with case managers and members of the multidisciplinary team with clients with complex needs. Spinal cord injury, both complete and incomplete. Multiple sclerosis: I am currently the Solihull Branch of the MS Society’s specialist physiotherapist providing their members with neurological rehabilitation. Medico legal report writing: for clients with acquired injury. I have completed a medico-legal course with both the chartered Society of Physiotherapy and a London firm of Solicitors. Stroke rehabilitation. Peripheral neurological disorders. The use of Functional Electrical Stimulation: for treatment of Bells Palsy, post surgical nerve damage in addition to use of the foot switch in stroke and MS. Treatment of clients in hydrotherapy pools for rehabilitation. I also have life saving training. Rehabilitation following brain and spinal cord surgery in both adults and paediatrics. I also assist carers and family in managing at home after hospital discharge and work closely with both Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists when necessary.
