Just Therapy

After graduating with her physiotherapy degree in 2003, Justine has worked predominantly in the NHS within the musculoskeletal outpatient setting. She now works part time within the NHS as the specialist physiotherapist for both the Womens Health team and the Chronic Pain team. She has also been practicing acupuncture since 2005 with a special interest in pain relief and womens health issues.

BSc(hons) MCSP HCPC (Physiotherapy/ Shiatsu) My career initially began as a professional dancer, which gradually expanded to incorporate teaching and facilitating creative approaches to movement with all ages and many styles of dance. I also worked in dance administration, promotion, managing a community dance programme, funding, choreography and advising on dance within the national curriculum. Eventually I found myself specialising in dance with and for people with disabilities, and older people. This latter work led to a career development resulting in a BSc in Physiotherapy, in order that I could understand more of the science behind movement to enhance the creative perspective, and work more effectively with movement disorders and injuries. I have worked as a general rotational physiotherapist covering medical, orthopaedic, surgical, A&E, musculoskeletal and neurological problems. It was the neurological caseload which I found most rewarding, and as a result I now work as a specialist neuro physiotherapist within a Stroke rehabilitation unit.
