Specialist Sport and Performance Physiotherapist A founder member of A2Z, Gareth brings extensive clinical and management experience to his role as the Lead Physiotherapist working closely with the Medical Director. Gareth trained and qualified in Zimbabwe and has worked extensively with elite and professional athletes since 1998. He has worked with a number of Zimbabwe national teams including Hockey, Rugby, Gymnastics, Cricket, Davis Cup Tennis, Swimming and Athletics. Gareth moved to the UK in 2004 and went on to join the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield where he worked with a number of sports including UK Athletics, Bob Skeleton, GB Boxing, GB Diving, GB Volleyball and GB Table Tennis and GB Handball. He also worked with a number of Paralympic athletes from GB Table Tennis, UK Athletics, GB Swimming, GB Wheelchair Basketball among others. Subsequently, Gareth worked in the North East of England in a private practice and was also Regional Lead Physiotherapist for TASS and was re-called to work as an independent consultant with British Diving. He is now the Head Physiotherapist for British Diving. Gareth has attended 3 Olympic Games (Athens, Beijing and London), 2 All-Africa Games (South Africa, Nigeria), the Afro-Asia Games (as physiotherapist for Africa Athletics in India) as well as numerous World championships, European Championships and World Series competitions with British Diving. Gareth's clinical interests include biomechanics, management of shoulder and spinal injuries, training recovery methods and the development of measures of performance measures. With a background in computer programming, Gareth has also developed a number of clinical audit tools and most recently software integrating performance and injury monitoring.
