About MLH Physio - Sale

mlh Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic is based Sale. Thorough assessments are conducted to allow us to formulate a treatment plan for each individual patient. All physiotherapy treatments are accompanied by exercise sessions to help early recovery. Treatments used to help patients are joint, muscle and soft tissue manipulation and mobilization, electrotherapy, acupuncture, exercise therapy and postural correction and advice. We are registered with all major private insurance companies.

Mr Matt Lakin-Hall

Biography:
He qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2003 from Salford University. He worked in the NHS at Hope Hospital in Salford for 8 years, and has specialised in musculo-skeletal practice for over 10 years, and has also worked in private practice since he qualified. He set up mlh Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic as Clinical Director in 2007, and spends his time working across the mlh practices. He has worked with a number of local sports clubs & athletes since setting up mlh, including Asthon-on-Mersey RUFC, and Sale Harriers Manchester athletes. He has also acted as Consultant Physiotherapist to England Hockey League club Brooklands Hockey Club in Sale for 10 years. His areas of clinical interest are manipulation and soft-tissue release techniques. He is a current member of the Organisation of Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice (OCPPP).

Mr Jonathan Smith

Biography:
He qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2004 from Salford University. He commenced his career at Salford Hope NHS Hospital where he specialised in musculoskeletal therapy. He left the NHS in 2010 to join forces with Matt Lakin-Hall as joint owners of mlh Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic working across all the mlh pratices. He has extensive knowledge of sports injury rehabilitation through being Head Physiotherapist for Macclesfield Rugby Club for 7 seasons (2004-2010) helping the team progress from National 3 to National 1 with the highlight being crowned champions in 2010 at Twickenham. He has also worked with the England Lady's Rugby team and Sale RUFC. He has developed a broad range of advanced treatment techniques through numerous external qualifications including acupuncture, manual therapy and kinetic control exercise therapy all aimed at providing effective diagnosis and treatment for a wide variety of conditions.

Biography:
She qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2005 from Salford University. She commenced her career at Salford Royal Hospital and worked there for 8 years, specialising in Musculoskeletal therapy, Orthopaedics, Rheumatology & Occupational Health. Rachel left the NHS in 2013 to tour with the musical theatre production of West Side Story, developing further skills within a sporting and dance environment. She has worked with a wide variety of elite athletes in high profile sports, including canoe slalom, diving, rowing, gymnastics & trampoline teams. She was involved with the London 2012 Olympic Games as a volunteer Physiotherapist, working with the basketball & handball teams. Rachel has also recently worked as team lead physiotherapist at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games for the diving events. She has gained a broad range of clinical skills and treatment techniques through the completion of numerous external qualifications, including acupuncture, osteopathic techniques, manual therapy, kinesiology taping, pilates & sports massage. Rachel is a current member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports and Exercise Medicine (ACPSEM).
