Physiotherapist, Practice Principal, Pilates Instructor, Women's Health Physiotherapist- special interests: All musculo-skeletal conditions including back pain, Women's Health & Pregnancy care, Acupuncture, Biomechanics & Pilates.
Moira trained at St. Thomas' Hospital in London, qualifying in 1986. On qualifying, Moira worked within the NHS at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, becoming involved in the rehabilitation of spinal injury patients. Moira left the NHS in 1990 and worked at Bupa Hospital, Harpenden until 1993. She then set up St Judes Clinic. This was based in Edlesborough for 14 years and was gradually developed into a multi-disciplinary Clinic. St Judes Clinic moved in February 2007 to larger premises in Leighton Buzzard.
As Practice Principal, Moira still has a very active role in treating St Judes’ patients, but she also oversees the development and co-ordination of the practice. As a keen advocate of Pilates, and the importance of stability, Moira has undertaken the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute (APPI) Matwork courses and is a fully certified and registered APPI Matwork Instructor. Moira is also specially trained in Pregnancy Pilates, Ski Fit Pilates, Pilates for Cyclists & Pilates for Osteoporosis - she is also President of the Osteoporosis Support Group Bedfordshire.
As a specialist Women’s Health Physiotherapist, Moira is available for continence assessments and treats pelvic floor and lumbar spine problems, which are often the cause of low back or pelvic pain. Pregnancy related problems such as Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction, stress incontinence, diastasis recti and pelvic girdle pain can also be treated. She keeps up to date with regular CPD courses to further her knowledge.
