Ms AJ Peterson - Physiotherapist at Physio Body and Sole

Ms AJ Peterson

Job Title:
  Physiotherapist
Specialisations:
Exercise Medicine, Massage Therapy, Orthotics, Physiotherapy, Sport and Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, Temporomandibular Disorders (TMJ)
Biography:
AJ is is passionate about empowering you to heal your injury and prevent it’s recurrence, and guide your return to optimal health. After 20 years of working in private practice with clients ranging from elite athletes to stressed out office workers from all age groups, AJ has learnt there are no recipe treatments, every patient is an individual and every injury therefore has different characteristics and best ways it responds to treatment. She assesses the whole body, not just the injured part, to get an idea of the original source of your injury to treat it effectively and completely. Also pain is not always felt at its source! She listens to your story and what you hope to gain from treatment; pain relief, improved flexibility, ability to walk long distances, return to sport, sleep well etc. AJ understands the importance of supporting a person through rehabilitation and enabling them to keep active while healing.
Ms Liz Bennett - Physiotherapist at Physio Body and Sole

Ms Liz Bennett

Job Title:
  Physiotherapist
Biography:
Liz Bennett has been a physiotherapist and yoga teacher for over 10 years, having worked with people in a huge variety of settings, both in a hands on physiotherapy capacity and teaching yoga. In recent years, Liz integrates the two modalities effectively, offering you progressive manual physiotherapy, with a focus on finding the underlying causes of pain or loss of function rather than just managing the symptoms. With the skills of a yoga therapist and physiotherapist, Liz can provide you with a musculoskeletal assessment to help you understand your current issue then treat the symptoms as well as the contributing factors to the problem. She will integrate therapeutic exercise, applying the principles of individualised yoga as appropriate, and can also help you to modify your current yoga practice to allow your body to heal optimally. You are likely to develop a stronger, more trusting relationship with your spine and whole body with Liz’s assistance. Your self- management is important, just as skilled manual therapy is very useful for getting you feeling better again. Creating a bridge between physiotherapy and yoga has been Liz’s lifelong passion. Liz began practising yoga over 15 years ago when studying physiotherapy at the University of South Australia. After several years working as a full-time physiotherapist, she moved to Sydney to do a three-year intensive apprenticeship with physiotherapists and yoga teachers Simon Borg Olivier and Bianca Machliss of Yoga Synergy. Liz was inspired by her physiotherapy mentors including Josephine Keys. In 2008 Liz completed a Diploma of Yoga Teaching with Michael De Manincor at the Yoga Institute of Australia.Liz is now a sought-after yoga teacher trainer and teaches bespoke Yoga Anatomy and Physiology modules at many Sydney yoga schools within their teacher training programs. Liz is on the teaching faculty of the Enlightened Events Yoga Therapy training in Sydney and delivers Leslie Kaminoff’s Yoga Anatomy tutorial sessions at the Yoga Institute of Australia, as well as presenting for LifeSource Yoga in North Sydney and A Fine Balance in Mona Vale, and running her own yoga school Yoga Essentia at Warriewood Surf Life Saving Club.
