He is pioneer and developer of patient specific
templates (PSI) and custom-made guides for total knee arthroplasty (TKR) since 2001.
Inventor with 20 patents on patient specific instruments & implants for
bone & joint surgery. Author of > 50 papers and 24 book chapters and
editorials. He is a winner of UK Alumni Award British Council 2018, Gold Medal
from Geneva inventions 2014 & 2016, Hap Paul Award from ISTA 2010 and few
other awards.
He was trained and worked in UK for > 10 years
and had arthroplasty fellowship in Wrightington Hospital, Wigan, UK (2004),
Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Pittsburgh, USA (2004-2005) & St Michael’s
Hospital, Toronto University, Canada (2006).
He is currently a
Professor and Head of the Orthopaedic Dept., Faculty of Medicine, October 6
University. Visiting professor, New Vision University, Georgia and External
supervisor of PhD program in Cardiff University, Wales, UK. Visiting Surgeon,
performing knee replacement & PSI in more than 10 countries in Europe,
North America, Africa and Asia.
He is Executive Committee Member in both
CAOS-International Society, Bern, Switzerland, & International Federation
of Inventors Associations, Geneva. SICOT Diploma Examiner & Plenary Speaker
(2019). Instructor for ATLS course, American College of Surgeons. Trainer in
AO-Recon.
