Having graduated from Ankara University faculty of medicine in 1995, Prof. In the same period, Prof. Barış Akin, also received the “ecfmg certificate”, which gives the right to work as a doctor in America. He graduated from Ankara University faculty of medicine general surgery program in 2000 and became a general surgery specialist. Dr. Akin completed his specialization in organ transplant surgery at Ohio State University.

He received the American society of transplant surgeons transplantation surgeon certificate and continued his work as an organ transplant surgeon in America. Prof. During this period Prof. Barış Akin served in America; he performed 250 kidney transplants and 280 laparoscopic kidney removal operations. In return for these studies, he was awarded the “young researcher award” at the American transplant congress in 2004.

He returned to Turkey in 2004, started working at group Florence Nightingale Hospital prof. Dr. Barış Akin, MD is the director of our kidney transplant center. Prof. Thanks to the “retroperitonoscopy” technique developed by Barış Akin, MD, the procedure of kidney removal from volunteer kidney donors can be performed more safely and comfortably.

More than 400 successful surgeries have been performed with this technique applied in our kidney transplant center since 2009. Retroperitonoscopy technique has become a method described in many medical congresses in America, Europe and our country.

Prof. Mutlu Arat graduated from Hacettepe University faculty of medicine in 1991. After his residency in ınternal medicine at Ankara University faculty of medicine, he completed his sub-specialty in hematology. Professor of transplantation at Ankara University faculty of medicine hematology department for many years. Dr. Mutlu Arat performed bone marrow transplants, the number of which reached 1400 in those years.

He started working at Group Florence Nightingale Hospitals in 2010. Dr. Mutlu Arat is the founder of our bone marrow transplant center. Prof. Mutlu Arat and his team are justifiably proud of performing over 1000 bone marrow transplants, including over 562 autologous transplants and over 500 allogeneic transplants since the establishment of our center.

Prof. Ahmet Tunc Ozdemır graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 1998.

In 2004, he received his Urology Specialization from Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital 1st Urology Clinic.

He worked at Ankara Atatürk Training and Research Hospital between 2007-2009.

In 2009-2011, he received active applied training and qualification certificates in the fields of Robotic Urology and Urooncology at the European Institute of Oncology (Istituto Europeo di Oncologia-Milan Italia).

He continued to work in Ankara Atatürk Training and Research Hospital between 2011-2013.

Receiving the title of Associate Professor in 2013, he started to work as an Associate Professor at Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine Urology Department between 2013-2018.

He received the title of Professor in 2018.

Currently, Prof. He works as a doctor and is the General Secretary of the Prostate Cancer Association.

He studied robotic surgery in Paris and Belgium in 2005. In March 2005, Florence Caglayan, Turkey’s first robotic urologic surgery program took place at the team started the Nightingale Hospital. It made its first robotic sacrocolpopexy operations in Turkey in June 2008. In 2008, he worked in USA NC Wake Forest University in the fields of endourology and advanced robotic surgery.

Considered one of the best spine surgeons in the world, prof. Dr. Azmi hamzaoğlu graduated from ıstanbul university ıstanbul faculty of medicine in 1979 and started his specialization in ıstanbul university ıstanbul medical faculty orthopedics and traumatology department in the same year. He became orthopedics and traumatology specialist in 1983, associate professor in 1989 and then professor in 1996.

He worked at ıstanbul university faculty of medicine, department of orthopedics and traumatology until 2004.

He worked for two years in the us minnesota spine surgery center, which is considered the best in the world in spine surgery.

In 1991, he went to japan and continued his studies in the field of spine surgery at the university of hokkaido.

After 2003, florence nightingale hospital and the orthopedic clinic, both founded turkey’s first spine surgery center.

Working with a team of 40 people in total and performing training operations in some difficult cases abroad, prof. Dr. Azmi hamzaoğlu is the founder of ‘ıstanbul scoliosis and spine center’ and florence nightingale hospital orthopedics and traumatology department chief.

In 1993, graduated as a Doctor of Medicine from Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul University in Istanbul.

In 1997, completed his specialty training as a radiologist at the Department of Radiology of Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul University in Istanbul.

Became an Associate Professor in 2005 and Professor in 2012.

At present, works as a faculty member at the Department of Interventional Radiology of the Department of Radiology at Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine.

Authored 36 scientific articles published in international peer-reviewed journals, 35 scientific articles published in national peer-reviewed journals, and more than 100 papers presented at national and international scientific meetings; invited to many national and international scientific meetings as a guest speaker. Additionally, an author and translator of various book chapters.

Has lectured on theoretical and practical medicine at the Vocational School of Health Services and the Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul University since 1997.

A member of the Turkish Society of Radiology, the Turkish Society of Interventional Radiology, the Turkish Society of Neuroradiology, and the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE).
