Massage Therapy

£35 - £50

Deep Tissue Massage (1 hour 30 mins)

Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. Deep  tissue massage  is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity, such as athletes, and patients who have sustained physical injury. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Using specific strokes and aromatherapy oils, a deep  tissue massage  is both powerful and vigorous to get to the deeper layers of muscle tissue. The patient receiving the deep  tissue massage  may have their pain replaced with a new muscle ache for a day or two but will leave you feeling better than ever after a few days.

?

Deep  tissue massage  usually focuses on a specific problem, such as:

?

  • Chronic pain

  • Limited mobility

  • Recovery from injuries

  • Repetitive strain injury

  • Postural problems

  • Osteoarthritis pain

  • Muscle tension or spasm

?

Please note:

?

?

Some people should not receive a deep  tissue massage. Anyone who has had recent surgery should avoid this type of therapy unless a physician has recommended it. Those with open wounds and skin infections should also avoid deep  tissue massage. This prevents wounds from getting worse and reduces the risk of spreading infection. If you were in a motor vehicle accident or involved in any type of physical trauma, consult your doctor about whether a deep  tissue massage  would be harmful or beneficial to you.

Foot Massage (30 mins)

Foot and leg reflexology is an incomparable pleasure which not only relieves fatigue, leaving the leg muscles and the body toned, but is also a uniquely relaxing procedure.

There are many reasons as to why people suffer from regular leg pains. These causes can be easily avoided if the right treatment is applied. Some of the main causes of leg pain are:

?

  • Sitting or standing for many hours of the day.

  • Hours of running or walking.

  • Lifting heavy weights.

  • Previous leg injury

  • Lack of healthy diet

  • Arthritis and other various chronic diseases

If you suffer from frequent leg pains, consult a doctor immediately as you might be affected with a chronic disorder.

Holistic Massage (30 mins)

Holistic therapy treats the body as a "whole", which means that not only will a massage treatment pamper your physical body but it will also establish internal and external problems and provide an effective method of re-balancing. Holistic massage is a therapeutic application of touch that is also a supportive, relaxing treatment that encourages the mind to slow down whilst energy is increased. This treatment also lifts the spirit on an emotional level. It is rare that we take an hour to lie down, close our eyes and just 'be'. An hour's peace and quiet away from the stresses and strains of daily life has a definite restorative effect.

?

For the body, the massage helps taut muscles to relax and combined with strokes to aid lymphatic drainage, which helps to release toxins. The benefits can be felt by all, whatever your age, background or lifestyle. Stress affects different people in many ways both physically and emotionally. Stiffness and soreness in muscles can be due to a wide range of physical factors from an overly energetic session in the gym or carrying too much shopping home, to poor posture through being seated at a desk all day or excessive time behind the steering wheel. The causes are not always physical however. Emotional tension and the day to day stresses of life can manifest as headaches caused by a stiff neck and shoulders and the body generally tensing up in response to stress.

?

Older people can benefit too. They can find it can be difficult to get around, resulting in lack of exercise and muscle atrophy. Massage will stimulate the blood flow and help release those feel-good endorphins.

?A truly tranquil experience for those who need a break from busy life.

  Aesthetic Medicine Physician
Specialisations:
  Massage Therapy, Beauty Therapy
Languages:

Biography:
I started my studies in 1998 at the National College of Arts and Trades in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. My initial studies were massage for babies, Hawaiian massage and lymphatic drainage. ? After working for several years as a massage and beauty therapist for Payot Institute in Santo Domingo I packed my bags and moved to Madrid, Spain in 2002. There I complimented my previous studies by attending the Higher College of Paramedical Techniques, sponsored by the Portuguese Institute of Naturology. This course covered a wide variety of massage techniques including, sports massage, deep tissue, head, neck and shoulder, massage with towels, moxibustion and cupping amongst other things. ? In addition to this I studied at the Spanish School of Traditional Thai Massage. We learnt from massage therapists who have studied in Thailand at some of the most prestigious traditional medicine schools, like Wat Po, as well as studying with the Buddhist monks who practise the most authentic and traditional Thai massage style. ? Alongside my studies I ran my own business as a massage therapist, working from my home in the centre of Madrid for several years building up a loyal client base before moving to Manchester in July 2012. ? With experience across a broad range of massage techniques I am able to combine the various different styles in order to treat each patient more effectively according to their needs.
