Grewal Eye Institute was established in May 1993 with the aim to providing highest quality ophthalmology services to domestic and international patients at affordable prices. GEI is the first institute in India in the field of ophthalmology to be accredited with ISO 9001: 2000 standards. GEI has developed an unparalleled eye care center in the region with a wide range of advanced diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic facilities with highly qualified and experienced medical and paramedical personnel. OUR TEAM At Grewal Eye Institute there is a team of dedicated professionals running specialized clinics at the Institute. The doctors working at GEI have many years of experience at the most prestigious ophthalmic centers in the country and overseas. INFRASTRUCTURE The Out Patient Department (OPD) is distributed over two wings with fifteen examination rooms. These are equipped with an ophthalmic unit, slit lamp, auto refract meter, applanation tonometer, trial set, indirect ophthalmoscope, focused light and remote vision test drums. This enables a smooth flow of patients and reduces the stay time of patients at GEI. The OPD accepts cases for refraction, spectacle prescription, minor eye ailments, major eye disorders, follow-up and special services like: Ultra Sound, Auto Refraction, Digital Fundus Fluorescein Angiography, Digital Angiography, Laser, Contact Lenses, Low visual aids, Low contrast grating, Color vision examination, Pachymetry, OCT, NCT (Non Contact Tonometry), GDX Vcc, Visual Field Examination, Pentacam, VISX wavescan, ERG, Multifocal ERG, VEP, Exercises for Weak Muscles, Strabismus Assessment, Cornea, Lasik Management. Grewal Eye Institute has the most modern and sophisticated operation theatre (OT) in the region. The operation theatre complex is situated at the top floor of the institute. The premises have three operation theatres with the latest operating equipments. It has a private room with two beds and one ten-bed recovery suite. Each bed in the recovery has a separate cabin with a bed for the patient, two seats for the attendants, a wardrobe to hang clothes and independent telephone. The operation theatre area has its own linen care department The state of the art operation theatre has been built to international standard keeping the WHO sterilization guidelines in focus.
