I rarely leave reviews, however, after my experience with this clinic, I am making an exception. I found Dr Martinick after searching for someone who could help revise a previous botched FUE hair transplant. Before having my first hair transplant, I did not know much about it. I chose to do FUE because it’s advertised as a scar-less procedure as opposed to FUT. This could not be further from the truth. I had 3,500 grafts, and after 2 years, I am still left with visible scars (white dots) all over the donor area. The donor area is also now very patchy and thin, and I can no longer wear my hair short so I can hide it. And as for the rest of my hair, there simply was not enough density as many of the grafts of FUE do not survive.
As the donor area was already overharvested, I had no choice but to consider an FUT procedure. One of the reasons I chose Dr Martinick was because of her use of the trichophytic closure method to hide the scar. She also had an outstanding reputation for her artistry and understanding of hair direction and creating natural looking hair transplants.
The actual surgery was completely comfortable, and even more so than my FUE procedure. I had some vertical scars on the side of my head (which I did try to unsuccessfully try and hide with my previous FUE procedure). Dr Martinick incorporated her strip incision through the scars, reducing the size of them and hiding it in the trichophytic closure. The hairline from the previous surgery was actually ok, however, Dr Martinick took measurements and explained where the hairline should naturally be, and improved it even more. Also, she noted that the previous hair transplant on the left side had the hairs going in the wrong direction. No wonder it was always harder to style!
Overall, absolutely amazing job. The hairline truly looks natural, and the density is so much better. I can not even see the difference between where the hair transplants start and where my existing hair was, it is blended in so well. And if that wasn’t enough, she also hid a large scar on my chin with grafts, making the scar virtually invisible.
I also need to give credit to the rest of her team. The technicians are truly skilful and outstanding, and the Dr assisting was also amazing. I learned that prior to working with Dr Martinick, he was a heart surgeon.
I went in with very high expectations, and to be honest, my high expectations were far exceeded! My only regret was not finding her sooner! Do not make the same mistake I did, and do your research before investing in your hair transplant. It's much harder to undo a bad job. I just wish I knew all this before and if I could go back in time, I wouldn't have ever gone anywhere else. Worth every cent!
