I was treated by Dr. B C Shah, Gastrointestinal, Endoscopic, and Laparoscopic Surgeon, for an Umbilical hernia at Bhakti Vedanta Hospital Mira Road on 28/06/2023. I was discharged on 30/06/2023.  My Mediclaim Agency, Star Health covered the entire hospital bill and furthermore, Dr. B C Shah waived the hospital deposit that is typically required upon admission, which was a considerable relief for me. My mom had a trilobulated umbilical hernia for 20 years when investigated through CT it was 28.5×21.5×13 cms approx. He not only explained to us the pros and cons and the criticality of the herniated sac but also was determined to put an end to this debilitating pain. With the simple procedure, surgery was successful and the after-treatment went with so much ease and comfort. The doctor is very kind, supportive and always gives reasonable cost solutions. The hernia was really large and had major complications with the involvement of her bowel movements which could show ramifications and make everything worse but no other doctor could have done this surgery with such a good outcome and comfort. It has been three months now and it just seems like a miracle. We really thank him from the bottom of our heart for something which seemed really impossible to operate. No happiness in the world could fathom the state in which we are now after seeing our mom spending time like the good old days.

Appendicitis is a painful swelling of the appendix, a finger-like pouch connected to the large intestine. It's located on the lower right-hand side of the abdomen (tummy).
