Dr. Türkoğlu graduated as the top student from university in 2005 and began her residency in Ophthalmology at Ankara Hospital after ranking high in the medical specialisation examination conducted by Turkiye. In 2010, she started working in the Oculoplasty unit at Sakarya University Hospital as a specialist to complete her mandatory service. After completing her mandatory service, she served as an Assistant Professor at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine. She focused on Ocular Oncology and completed a fellowship at Wills Eye Institute in the USA between 2015-2016. During this period, she successfully completed a TÜBİTAK project on retinoblastoma treatment. She received her Associate Professorship in 2017 and was an observer at the National Cancer Center in Tokyo in 2019.
In November 2022, she earned the title of Professor and has since focused her work on adult and pediatric ocular oncology, oculoplasty, and cataract surgery. She has published over 150 scientific papers in international and national journals. She is a member of the Turkish Ophthalmological Association (TOD), the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), and the International Society of Ocular Oncology (ISOO), among others. She serves as the education coordinator on the board of the TOD Ocular Infections Unit.
