The hospital has 6 state-of-the-art equipped operation rooms in which every type of eye treatment which requires surgery can be performed: ultrasound cataract surgery – operations of the inner eye for diseases caused by diabetes – diseases of the macula or degenerative changes of the retina – surgical treatment of glaucoma (high ocular pressure) – strabismus correction surgery – plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids – corneal transplant surgery – refractive laser surgery. Most surgical procedures are performed on a one-day basis, and patients are free to go home half an hour after their operation. The hospital also has an eight bed care facility where patients can be looked after if they require intensive care or if they have undergone complicated surgery and they need to be monitored for a longer period of time.
