Biomechanical assessment
Pain in our feet is often due to the way our feet and supporting limbs function. Any misalignment, e.g. high arches or flat feet, or excessive mobility can cause pain in the feet, ankles, knees, hips, lower back and even create neck pain and headaches.
We carefully assess and measure your gait (the way you walk or run) in order to identify any posture or physical problems; in our Horley clinic, we can do this using our professional standard treadmill and camera system which allows our experts to closely analyse your gait (the way you walk or run) in order to prescribe the appropriate treatment.
Treatments following this assessment may indicate a requirement for a custom or semi-custom orthotic inserts for your shoes. These will be specifically designed for your feet and will help correct and realign your gait.
There are a number of important reasons for a correcting your gait; most often it can alleviate pain in various parts of your body, including knees, hips and back; it also increases the efficiency of your walking and running.
