MBBS (NUS), CES (ACSM) Founder and Director, Myos Clinic Clinical Exercise Specialist Principal Resident Physician, Singapore Sports Council Dr Lim graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2002 and has obtained his Clinical Exercise Specialist Certification with American College of Sports Medicine and Sports Medicine Course Certificate with the Singapore National Olympic Committee -International Olympic Committee. He has served as the clinical director in an osteoarthritis treatment centre and was the past Vice-President for the Sports Medicine Association Singapore (SMAS). He currently serves as the Internal Auditor for SMAS of which he has been a member since 2005. Dr Lim is the current Medical Adviser to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Singapore and is also an accredited Medical Examiner for commercial and recreational diving certification and an International Paralympic Committee local classifier (medical) for power wheelchair football. He has extensive experience in the sporting and exercise field and is heavily involved in the sporting scene in Singapore. Having served as a Visiting Physician to Singapore Sports Council since 2011, Dr Lim is the current Principal Resident Physician at Singapore Sports Council looking after the health and medical well-being of Singapore’s top national athletes. Dr Lim’s experience on the international sports medicine scene involved serving as a sports physician supporting the international athletes in the Game Village both for the Inaugural Asian Youth Games held in Singapore (August 2009) and the Inaugural Summer Youth Olympics held in Singapore (August 2010). He was a Team Physician for Team Singapore during the 26th SEA Games held in Jakarta (November 2011) and was the Chief Medical Officer for the Singapore team in the 2nd Asian Youth Games in Nanjing (August 2013). Dr Lim will be a Team Singapore sports physician for the 20th Commonwealth Games 2014 in Glasgow (July 2014) and has been nominated as the Chief Medical Officer for Team Singapore in the upcoming 17th Asian Games 2014 to be held in Incheon (September 2014). Dr Lim’s clinical practice focuses on musculoskeletal treatment and rehabilitation, muscle and joint disorders and healthy lifestyles. With his expertise is in rehabilitative and functional therapy, biomechanics of injury and muscular function, exercise as a medical treatment, exercise prescription and exercise coaching, Dr Lim has successfully treated people throughout the functional spectrum, from athletes to disabled people, youth athletes with acute injures to elderly with arthritis. He is also a regular speaker at public health talks on the topics of musculoskeletal problems, sports injuries, joint pain, joint health and exercise.
