Nina is well known to the people of Dublin 15. She has worked in both single handed and more corporate style practices. Nina has a deep understanding of the health concerns and needs, of those attending a GP, and what they want from their local clinic.
Nina Graduated third in her class with an honours medical degree from Trinity College in 1996. She undertook post graduate training in hospital medicine in Ireland, the USA and Australia, including time spent at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Ohio, before returning to Ireland and undertaking post graduate training in General practice. She became a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners in 2004. In addition to her GP qualification, she has completed a postgraduate diploma in Clinical Psychiatry. She believes strongly that a person’s mental health has a profound influence on their physical wellbeing.
Nina enjoys all aspects of general family practice. She really enjoys getting to the root of any problem and will leave no stone unturned trying to get an answer for your symptoms and concerns. Having spent several years working in hospital medicine, she is comfortable managing those with more complex medical complaints.
Caring for children is the highlight of her day. Being a Mom to three children, ranging in age from pre-teen to toddler, she is comfortable caring for children of all ages. She knows that the solution to many of the issues that worry parents and children alike are not to be found on the pages of medical books but are learned through years of experience as a doctor and mother.
Having trained in antenatal care, and experienced three pregnancies herself, Nina really enjoys looking after expectant mom’s. Her motto is that pregnancy is a state of health and a healthy happy Mom hopefully leads to a healthy happy baby.
She is trained in all aspects of contraceptive care and is qualified in the insertion and removal of coils and contraceptive implants.
Nina’s other special areas of interest include cardiovascular and preventive health, women’s health and lifestyle medicine.
Nina is well known in Irish media and has been praised for her straight talking empathetic approach. Having had many excellent mentors throughout her career she is committed to the next generation of doctors. She is involved in teaching first year undergraduate Trinity Medical Students.
Nina was born in Ireland but spent part of her childhood living in France and the USA. She is now settled in Dublin with her husband and 3 children.
She is delighted that so many of her previous patients believe in the ethos of Generation Health and continue to attend her. She looks forward to welcoming many new faces and families aboard.
