Dr Stephen Tyring -  at Dermatological Association of Texas-Museum District Office

Dr Stephen Tyring

Biography:
Dr. Tyring was born and raised in Indiana, and he received his undergraduate degree from Indiana State University. He went on to obtain his Master’s Degree from Abilene Christian University, his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch, his doctorate from Texas Tech University. He completed his dermatology residency at University of Alabama. After completion of his training, he returned to Texas to establish Dermatological Association of Texas and Center for Clinical Studies.

Stephen K. Tyring, M.D., Ph.D., is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, Infectious Disease Society of America, as well as the American Federation for Clinical Research. He sits on several editorial boards and serves as a reviewer for a number of journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, Antiviral Research, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Archives of Dermatology, Journal of Infectious Diseases and Annals of Internal Medicine.

A principal investigator for over 200 successfully completed clinical trials, Dr. Tyring’s research interests include the therapy and prevention of various mucocutaneous diseases, especially those disorders with an infectious and/or immunological basis. Dr. Tyring is the author of over 1000 journal articles and book chapters as well multiple books.

Dr Karan Sra -  at Dermatological Association of Texas-Museum District Office

Dr Karan Sra

Biography:
Karan K. Sra, M.D., is a native Texan, as she was born and raised here in Houston. Dr. Sra spent her earlier years in Northwest Houston, where she attended Jersey Village High School. She then went on to complete her undergraduate training at University of Texas Austin where she graduated with honors. She attended medical school, internship and Dermatology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Prior to completing her training, she was a fellow in clinical trials at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and Center for Clinical Studies in Houston under the supervision of Dr. Stephen Tyring M.D. Dr. Sra has since served both as principal and sub-investigator on numerous clinic trials involving skin diseases such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.

Dr. Sra has published multiple scientific manuscripts in medical journals and books in the last few years. In addition, she has received numerous academic awards including 2 scholarships from the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Sra’s interests include both medical and cosmetic dermatology. She is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

When Dr. Sra is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and their German shepherd. In addition, she enjoys traveling, running and exercising.

Dr Lauren Campbell -  at Dermatological Association of Texas-Museum District Office

Dr Lauren Campbell

Biography:
Lauren Campbell, M.D., was born and raised in Northwest Houston, Texas, and attended Jersey Village High School. She then went on to graduate from the University of Texas at Austin Summa Cum Laude after participating in the Dean’s Scholars Program for the College of Natural Sciences with Bachelors of Arts degrees in both Spanish and Biology.

Later Dr. Campbell attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston with a full academic and community service scholarship, graduating with honors. After completing medical school, she participated in an NIH funded clinical and research fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh in skin lymphoma and melanoma, with a focus on dendritic cell vaccine research and pigmented lesions. She completed her internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Dr. Campbell completed dermatology residency at Rush University in Chicago, serving as chief resident. She is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology. She has and continues to publish research articles in dermatological journals. Her special interests within dermatology include psoriasis, pediatric dermatology, pigmented lesions, and diseases of the nails and hair. In her spare time she enjoys reading, outdoors activities, and spending time with her family and her Boston Terrier.
