Dermatology Center of San Francisco - Castro Branch

Leading practitioner of dermatology for over 40 years, with a primary specialization in medical dermatology as well as hair restoration and hair transplantation. He obtained his medical degree from Georgetown University in 1968, completed his medical internship at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco in 1969, and his dermatological residency training at LSU Charity Hospital in New Orleans. He established his dermatology practice in 1974, after practicing as a major in the U.S. Army. He has also acted as an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California at San Francisco for over 35 years. He is the head of Dermatology at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco, and has directed the section for 20 years. Dr. Panagotacos carries the distinction of being a respected national and international lecturer for hair transplantation.

Earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Singapore in 1975. He then trained in internal medicine at the University of the Health Sciences Chicago Medical School. He additionally completed residency training in emergency room medicine and pediatrics. Dr. Ellison finished his dermatological residency at the University of Washington in 1986. He is a clinical instructor of dermatology at the University of California at San Francisco and is affiliated with California Pacific Medical Center Davies campus, and St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Obtained his bachelor’s of arts degree from San Francisco State University after working a decade as a respiratory therapist. He attended physician’s assistant school at Stanford's Primary Care Associate Program, graduating with honors in 1991. After working 2 years in cardiac surgery, urgent care, and occupational medicine, Kurtis began working at U.C.S.F with professor Marcus Conant, M.D As the first dermatology P.A in San Francisco, Kurtis's dermatological training spanned a ten year period with Dr.Conant. Kurtis is past president and co-founder of the Society of Dermatology PA’s, a steering committee member of the S.F.B.A.P.A, and founder of the Derm P.A Journal Club of San Francisco.
