In 1995 he went on to gain a Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies (DPDS) specialising in Periodontology and the treatment of worn dentition. Martin is an active member of the British Dental Association (BDA) and the Association of Dental Implantology( ADI).
Martin initially started his implant career on a one year course run by Cemal Ucer specializing in Implant Dentistry in Manchester that was completed in 1997. The course covered placing and restoring all the key Dental Implant Systems. Since then he has completed many implant courses and is currently studying for his MSc in Implantollogy at Warwick University.
He is an Astra Clinical Coach, a mentor for Salford University involved in the mentoring of clinicians starting in Implants. Martin has been placing and restoring implants since 1998 and mainly works with the Astra implant system but has also placed and restored Frialit, Osteo-Ti systems and Straumann.
