I qualified in Dentistry from Glasgow University in 1999. After completing my vocational training year in Dumfries straight after graduation, I took up positions in Oral medicine and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. I gained my Membership to the faculty of Dental Surgeons at The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2001 and then entered medical school at Dundee University, qualifying as a medical doctor in 2005. Following on from this, I took up several positions encompassing many disciplines in medicine and surgery, latterly having a significant interest in Emergency medicine and I still do regular Clinical Sessions as a doctor in the Accident & Emergency department of the Victoria Infirmary in Glasgow. I am an examiner at The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow and I am an appointed Director of The Facial Cosmetic Academy which has the responsibility of teaching facial aesthetics to doctors, dentists and nurses throughout the UK. I am a member of the British Medical Association, The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Association of Dental Implantology.

I qualified in 1996 from University of Dublin Trinity College. After completing a year of vocational training in Falkirk associated with the University of Glasgow, I joined the surgery in March 1998. I have extensive experience as a general dental practitioner providing dental health care within the practice for over thirteen years.
I believe in high quality family dentistry and endeavour to make this available to both my new patients and long standing patients. I am committed to continuing professional development, regularly attending a wide variety of courses in contemporary dental techniques.

I qualified as a Pharmacist in 1994 and have spent many years working in community pharmacy.I am still a registered pharmacist however I have re-trained as a Dental Therapist gaining my qualification through the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh,studying at Glasgow Dental Hospital.
A Dental therapist can carry out a wide range of procedures, including:
• intra and extra oral assessment • scaling and polishing • applying materials to teeth such as fluoride and fissure sealants • taking dental radiographs • providing dental health education on a one to one basis or in a group situation • undertaking routine restorations in both deciduous and permanent teeth, on adults and children • using all materials except pre cast or pinned placements • extracting deciduous teeth under local infiltration analgesia
