About The Specialist Dental Centres - Warwick Lodge Dental
Warwick Lodge has been providing excellent dental care to people of all ages for the past 25 years. They started off as a specialised periodontist facility and with increasing demand for specialist treatment; the practice has gradually recruited other specialists in the field of periodontics and orthodontics. Services provided include dental implants, gingivitis, periodontitis, endodontics which includes root canal treatment and orthodontics which includes braces of different types.

Surgery part of 4 implants. Very friendly dentist that put me at ease. Felt no pain throughout the procedure. He was very fast and experienced. Would highly recommend treatment at Warwick Lodge. All the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Dr Richard Palmer

Richard graduated from The Royal Dental Hospital in 1975 and has pursued an academic career since then whilst maintaining a high level of clinical activity within his academic appointments and in part time private practice limited to periodontology and implant dentistry. He gained a fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1979 and was awarded an honorary fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1997. His PhD from the University of London was awarded in 1984.
He is currently Professor of Implant Dentistry and Periodontology at Kings College London as well as being the Head of Restorative Dentistry. He has gained an international reputation as a senior academic, researcher and clinician. He set up Warwick Lodge Dental Centre in 1994 having built up a private periodontal referral practice over many years. He continues to work there part time providing periodontal treatment and implant dentistry. He has been President of the British Society of Periodontology and the European Federation of Periodontology. He sits on the board of the Dental Council and Specialist Advisory Board for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Dr Paul Palmer

Paul graduated as a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from The London Dental Hospital in 1986 and worked within the department of Maxillo-Facial Surgery both there and subsequently at St Margarets Hospital, Epping until starting in general dental practice in 1987. He gained his MSc in Periodontology at UMDS Guys Hospital in 1991 and has worked in part-time private periodontal practice since 1989.
He holds a Membership in Restorative Dentistry (Periodontology), from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is currently in private practice limited to periodontology and implant dentistry and is a part-time Consultant in Periodontology with a special interest in implant dentistry within Guys and St Thomas NHS trust at Guys Hospital. This involves providing implant treatment for complex cases and teaching implant dentistry to post-graduate students. He has worked with several different implant systems since 1987 and has lectured nationally and internationally on the subject. He has a particular interest in bone augmentation and non-invasive sinus grafting techniques.
He is an examiner for the Diploma in Implant Dentistry for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and sits on the board of the Specialist Advisory Board for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Dr Lesley Pantlin

Lesley graduated as a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with distinction from The London Dental Hospital in 1985 and worked as a part-time Clinical Assistant in Periodontology with the Medical Research Council Dental Research Unit between 1989 and 1990. This was followed by the attainment of a Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1990. She completed her MSc in Periodontology at Guys Hospital in 1994.
From 1994 until 2000 she divided her time between private practice limited to periodontology and working as a clinical supervisor in the Department of Periodontology of Guys Dental School. She continues to provide lectures and workshops for dentists and hygienists. She currently works as a specialist periodontist in private practice with an interest in periodontal plastic surgery.

Charlotte graduated as a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Guys Hospital (UMDS) in 1991 and worked in full time general dental practice until she started studying for her MSc in Periodontology at Guys, Kings and St Thomas which she completed in 1996. This course of postgraduate training continued until 2000 when she was awarded a Masters in Clinical Dentistry in Periodontology with a distinction. This was followed by the attainment of a Membership in Restorative Dentistry (Periodontology) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2000.
She worked within Guys, Kings and St Thomas Dental School as a clinical supervisor between 1996 and 2003, continuing her training in the field of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. She has been in private practice limited to periodontolgy and implant dentistry since 2000 with an increasing level of activity in the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants. She is actively involved in post-graduate training for dentists and hygienists. She has a particular interest in muco-gingival surgery and soft tissue augmentation techniques as well as guided tissue and bone regeneration.
Dr Spencer J. Nute

Spencer graduated as a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honours at the University of Bristol in 1991. After qualification, he worked in various dental and oral surgery positions around the UK. He gained the Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1994 and was awarded the Gold Medal for the highest marks in this examination.
In 1995, Spencer started his 5 year specialist orthodontic training at The Royal London and Southend Hospitals, and obtained his Master of Science from the University of London and the Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England followed by the Fellowship in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons.
Spencer has been a consultant Orthodontist at Southend and Basildon Hospitals since 2000. He has also worked in a private orthodontic practice in South Essex since 2001. Spencer has extensive experience managing all types of orthodontic problems for children and adults. Other orthodontists regularly refer him patients with complex problems that involve working with other specialists in oral and facial surgery, plastic surgery and advanced cosmetic and restorative dentistry. He also trains dentists to become orthodontists, which keeps him up to date with the latest research and clinical techniques. His commitment to teaching excellence led him to achieve the Certificate in Medical Education (University of Wales). He is an examiner for the University of London and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Dr James Aquilina

James qualified as a Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Guys Hospital (UMDS) in 1992. He then undertook House Officer postings within the institute in Childrens Dentistry and Oral Surgery. He subsequently completed his vocational training and practiced mainly private general dentistry.
He then underwent further training at Guys Hospital to gain his MSc in Endodontics in 1997. He remained at the Institute as a part-time clinical demonstrator teaching endodontics whilst building up a multi-centre private referral practice for endodontic treatment.
James now works as a specialist endodontist in 3 private practices. In addition to this his commitment to further education involves him providing endodontic courses and lectures for general dental practitioners.
