About Toothworks

Toothworks is a small private dental practice, located in the Arnos Vale area of Bristol, and is dedicated to promoting healthy and beautiful mouths. We are working in a relaxed atmosphere from a custom-built unit on the Paintworks site, on the A4 Bath Road close to Temple Mead station and the ITV studio. From the outside a traditional building, inside we have created a modern dental surgery, where we continuously invest in new skills and new technology, including most recently membership of the BDA Good Practice Scheme and the installation of a new instrument sterilization facility. That way we ensure that our patients have the very best that modern dentistry can offer.

Our main emphasis is to encourage long term health. Our extensive range of dental treatments means also that you do not need to be referred out and the choices you make are in the knowledge that your well-being is paramount to us. We can also enhance your appearance with a comprehensive variety of safe and effective cosmetic treatments. We are happy to discuss your individual needs at any time.

As part of this comprehensive care we have recently introduced facial rejuvenation treatments. We use a treatment for wrinkles to smoothen out the skin and a range of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers to plump up your face. For full details ask our practice manager.

We operate our Toothworks Dental Payment Plan to help spread the cost of dental care. All patients are eligible to join. Any patient joining the scheme gets a 10% discount on all restorative procedures.

Beautiful work

5 50 Dental Crowns, Veneers • Paid: £2500

I have already given a 5-star review on Trustpilot however I have an update I wish to share, I had two Emax crowns and four Emax veneers replacing my existing, fantastic.

I went to my lodgeside dentist today for a check-up and I explained the work I had done by Gus, well my dentist couldn’t stop praising the workmanship, how natural they look, the beautiful white and how reasonable the cost is, we are in total agreement. Beautiful work.

Her assistant looked up Toothworks and my dentist wrote down all the details to recommend to, any enquiring clients of hers, praise indeed as my practice also deals in the cosmetic side but Gus is her recommendation and I’m not the least bit surprised.

They recently managed to squeeze me in for a suspected infection.

Gus van Riessen has over 25 years experience in providing high quality dental care to his patients, tailored to their individual needs. Qualified as a dentist in 1988 in Guy's Dental Hospital and, following a number of years in General Practice, completed an MSc in endodontics in 1997. She has worked since then as a specialist endodontist in practice and also taught endodontics to Undergraduate students in Guy's Dental School. Anna spent a number of years in Italy where she operated her own Endodontic Referral Practice and decided to come back to the UK in 2015. Anna will carry out all aspects of specialist endodontics by referral only, using a microscope, including: trauma cases, root canal re-treatment, finding and gaining access to sclerotized canals, removal of posts and broken instruments, treatment of unusual anatomy (such as dens in dente, roots with extreme curvature, bi- or trifurcations of canals), endodontic surgery (apicectomy, hemi-section, root resection, perforation and external resorption repair), problems with anaesthesia, perio-endo lesions, non-vital bleaching etc. Her main aim is to achieve a high quality of service for the patients, whilst making them feel at ease. She is on the Endodontic Specialist List of the General Dental Council number 64053. The toothworks dental team.

Emma Needham started working in Toothworks in June 2015, coming up from Devon where she worked as Lead Dental Nurse for a number of years in a busy NHS practice. She is our qualified First Aider and Fire Marshall and deals amongst other things with the Practice policies on Health and Safety matters and Care Quality Commission compliance.
