Welcome to Dr.Tangmo Dental Clinic, the dental clinic of excellence for dentistry in Phuket Town.  Our clinic has been providing dental solutions to local and international patients.     2.  Sinus Lift- A sinus lift is surgery that adds bone to your upper jaw in the area of your molars and premolars. Its sometimes called a sinus augmentation.   • A bridge, also known as a fixed denture, is made to replace one or more missing teeth. Bridge can be supported in any of three ways:
    1.By natural teeth
    2.By implants
    3.By a combination of teeth and implants.
  •  A traditional bridge is made by creating a crown for the teeth on either side of the space and placing a false tooth or teeth between the crown. The crowns, sometimes called caps, can be supported by natural teeth or by implants. The false tooth or teeth are attached to the crowns and fill the empty space.
  • If the teeth receiving the crowns are healthy and strong, they probably will not need root canal therapy. However, parts of the teeth will be removed to make space for the crowns. Traditional bridges are made either of porcelain fused to metal (PFM) or ceramics.
  • Getting a bridge requires at least two visits, but often more. At the first visit, your dentist prepares the teeth and covers them with temporary crowns. The dentist may also make impressions of the teeth.
  • The bridge is placed at later visits. On average, bridges last five to seven years. A major reason bridges fail is that new cavities develop on the supporting teeth. These cavities occur because of poor oral hygiene. With proper hygiene, which includes flossing your teeth under the bridge, they will last longer.

  • The Maryland dental bridge

    is one of a few types of bridges used to replace teeth. Named for the University of Maryland, where it was developed, this bridge is resin-retained and commonly used to replace the front teeth. A pontic (false tooth) is attached to metal bands that are hidden with a white-colored composite resin and attached to the back sides of the teeth on either side of the pontic.
  • A Maryland bridge consists of a metal framework with a porcelain tooth baked on to the front of the framework. The framework then ends up as a false tooth with two metal wings on the side. These metal wings are prepared to have a porous surface so that they can receive a bonding agent, and then the wings are bonded to the back sides of the teeth on either side of the missing tooth. The picture on the right shows how this looks.

Composite Veneers

  • Composite resin veneers are a cheaper alternative to other types of veneers such as porcelain veneers.
  • Advantages of composite resin veneers There are few benefits of this veneer. They are a good choice if you have a small crack or chip in a tooth as they will hide this nicely as well as protecting the rest of the tooth. Plus they are a good option for anyone on a budget.
  • There are more disadvantages than advantages of this type of veneer. They may be cheaper but they are not as durable as other types of veneers which mean that they will have to be replaced more often. So, you may end up paying more than if you have purchased the porcelain veneers.
  • Typically, a direct composite veneer lasts no more than 2 years. Plus they are more prone to staining or discolouration than other veneers. Their relative weakness means that they are more likely to break or fall off your tooth and they are not as natural looking as the other types of veneers.
