Gum surgery is done to eliminate disease pockets which still exist after all healing has been achieved following root planning. There are, however, a small number of cases which will not benefit from non-surgical root planning and surgery will be recommended without having root planning done. Surgery is most frequently done local anaesthetic. A periodontal dressing may be placed after the surgery in order to protect the tissues. There may be some pain after periodontal surgery. When surgery is done and diseased tissue is removed, the teeth may have more root surface exposed. Some patients experience big gaps between their teeth,or chipped off edges on front teeth. This problem can be relatively quickly and painlessly solved. Using composite or porcelain reconstructions,the gaps can be closed or the chipped edges repaired. The shape and shade of the original tooth can be duplicated so that the difference afterwards is hardly recognizable.

Using tooth implants is it possible to replace missing teeth so perfectly that they look and function just like in nature. When single teeth are missing (due to an accident or extraction), an implant ( artificial " root " ) is placed in the jaw. This implant serves as an anchor for a new tooth crown. Implants are made of Titanium and are perfectly accepted and intergrated into the surrounding jawbone. The big advantage is that adjacent teeth remain intact and are not required to be included into a bridge construction.

The Bleaching takes about 75 minutes in the practice. By Home – Bleaching, an individual fitting gum guard is made up for you. At home, at your own time and leisure, you place diluted bleaching paste into the gum guard which then gets worn for a half hour to an hour daily for about 1 – 2 Weeks.
