Dr.Romanenko graduated from Semashko Moscow Medical Dental Institute (Moscow State Medical and Dental University, MSMSU), afterwards (from 1993 to 1995) she took clinical residency at maxillofacial surgery department of MMSI specializing in Dental Surgery. In 1995 she went for full-time postgraduate course at maxillofacial surgery department of MMSI with specialization in implantology and in 1999 she passed her Ph.D. defence. The same year she completed pedagogical internship at Moscow State Medical and Dental University.

From 1999 to 2004 she worked as an associate professor at the general practice dentistry and dental technician training department of MSMSU. In 2001, 2002 and 2003 she attended seminars on reconstructive and surgical methods of periodontium treatment held by QuintessenzBerlin (Germany). In 2004 she took part in the First International Congress on Osseointegration, East-West Riga.
