My 31th tooth had a broken corner last year, I had amalgam filling on it and it wore off recently. I went to this Gerochi Dental and Implant Center for checking and refill. After making me taking the Xray for examination (php 1,000), the Dentist, Dr. Aezel Jade Tan started drilling. But she stopped in the middle of the process to tell me that she cannot drill deeper because the old filling touches the gum, and if she drill too deep, she might touch the root canal, and I would have to have root canal treatment. Provided that she forced me to take the X-Ray, I guess she should have better view of my tooth.
Then she told me that she would fill the tooth with composite filling and we will observe if it has any problem in the future. I trusted her for her profession on that day.
After 2 weeks, I just went to another dentist to ask about the case, this dentist now tell me that "They cannot do that, it is not allowed. They must remove all the old filling before applying the new one on, because the 2 fillings do not combine well with each other."
Well I was like, okay, who should I trust? But the fact that Dr. Aezel had my Xray and not so sure about the depth of the old filling, together with the thing about applying a different filling over the old one, I guess I cannot trust Dr. Aezel anymore. The composite filling was php 1,500 for one (1) surface by the way.
Also, Dr. Aezel told me that I could get a copy of my Xray. They did not give me that day, so I emailed them asking about how can I get a copy but they dont answer me.
The only good thing about this clinic is the staff and the doctor is really nice and friendly. Dr. Aezel , however, is really patient, she kept asking if my jaw is still high and tried to adjust the filling multiple times to make sure it is okay.
