I have recently been to Penang Dental Surgery on Jalan Burma, and cannot praise them enough. I initially thought I needed an implant, as this was what was recommended by a dentist in Thailand. I live on a sailboat, so am constantly on the move, and an implant requres several visits over a long period of time. While still in Thailand I emailed the Penang Dental Surgery, sending them an xray of my tooth, and asking if I should extract the tooth in Thailand, and let the gum heal while gradually sailing down to Penang.
They immediately emailed back, sayng 'do not extract the tooth, it is still strong'. When I got to Penang, I saw Dr Tan, who recommended a root canal and then a crown. Because the root canal was quite complicated, he referred me to Dr Tee at the Adventist hospital, who was wonderful and did an excellent job - absolutely no pain. I then went back to Dr Tan and had a temporary crown put on. The staff were so good at reorganising appointments for me, arranging the crown to be made overnight, as I was in a hurry to move on from Penang, and communicating with me promptly either by email or phone. I highly recommend this surgery!
I found this surgery via recommendations on the internet while in Thailand. I emailed them and had excellent reply and advice from them, even before visiting the doctor. I had to make several changes to dates for appointments, and they were always able to fit in with my timetable.
