It was such a good experience.

5 50 Dentist Consultation

I'm a nervous patient and avoided going back to the dentist for a long time, recently had work done by Dr Don Mac Auley and just so happy with it. It was such a good experience. I felt no discomfort or pain while the work was being done and none afterwards either. I'm not as nervous about my follow up appointments/check ups now thanks to Don and the team.

Dental Bridges

Guaranteed for 1 years.Dental bridges are false teeth that are used to replace missing teeth. Unlike removable dentures, a dental bridge is fixed in place as it is anchored to the teeth at one, or both sides of a gap. They’re an alternative to dental implants for patients who don’t want to have surgery. Why do I need a bridge? Gaps in your teeth don’t just look unappealing, they can also cause a lot of damage to the surrounding teeth, putting more pressure on them and sometimes straining the jaw joint. Gaps where a tooth or teeth have been lost, also allow for unwanted and undesirable tooth movement of the adjacent or opposing teeth. A dental bridge is used to solve this problem, usually by fixing a false tooth in the gap and using the natural teeth to hold it in place. It typically has three pieces; a false tooth, held together by two crowns that cover the adjacent teeth. This is called a fixed – fixed bridge. By comparison, a Maryland bridge has metal wings bonded onto the adjacent teeth, which are very lightly prepared.

Dental Checkup

Visiting a new Dentist for the first time can be a bit daunting. At Navan Dental, we do our best to put you at ease, with our relaxed and friendly welcome. On your first visit, we conduct a very detailed assessment of your mouth, teeth and gums. Checkups at navan DentalThis involves: recording a medical history, asking you about any medical conditions you may have, or medication you are taking, which could influence the health of your mouth recording each individual tooth, fillings and areas of concern conducting a thorough examination including checking your jaw points for signs of abnormalities or disease conductinga free cancer screening which checks the soft tissues of your mouth checking the gums for signs of any current or past gum disease checking the teeth for any decay or abnormal wear taking x-rays of the inside of your mouth so we can monitor areas of concern making appropriate recommendations of any treatments which may be required, based upon our findings Good communication is essential and therefore we allocate sufficient time to both examine the patient and listen attentively to your observations and desires. Often the patient knows more about their dental condition than the dentist. So if you have any problems or queries, then please do not hesitate to inform or ask us. It is important for you to have regular dental examinations so that your dentist can help you to maintain a healthy mouth and also check for any early signs of dental problems, such as decay or gum disease. They enable your dentist to correct problems before they become complicated and require extensive treatment.
€650 - €850

Dental Crowns

Guaranteed for 1 years.A dental crown is a cap that is placed over a tooth and held in place by dental adhesive or cement. Crowns are used for several reasons: as a protective cover for badly decayed teeth or fractured teeth as a permanent restoration for teeth with large fillings to correct minor problems in natural teeth like spacing and irregular shape or severe discolouration. Crowns are made of inert materials that do not deteriorate over time. However, the underlying tooth is still prone to decay and gum disease. Crowns on average last between 10 and 15 years. Ceramic on the surface may chip or fracture. Avoid chewing excessively hard substances like ice or bones. Daily brushing and flossing are essential for maintaining good oral health as well as keeping the crown trouble-free. The most vulnerable portion of the crown is the margin or the junction between tooth and crown. Regular check-ups will enable your dentist to detect any problems with your crown and recommend necessary treatment.

Extractions

At Navan Dental, we consider tooth extraction to be a last resort, and do everything to maintain the lifespan of your natural teeth. However, sometimes, when the prognosis is poor, a tooth simply cannot be saved. But don’t worry, at Navan Dental we can offer anyone in Navan, Dublin and Co. Meath an affordable tooth extraction service. The most common reasons for needing an extraction are: Wisdom teeth removal If there isn’t enough space for wisdom teeth to grow at the back of your mouth, they can become impacted, causing pain, swelling and/or infection, so may need to be removed. Overcrowding Sometimes dentists extract teeth to prepare the mouth for orthodontics. The goal of orthodontics is to properly align the teeth, which may not be possible if your teeth are too big for your mouth. Likewise, if a tooth can’t break through the gum, because there’s no room in the mouth for it, we may recommend extraction. Infection If tooth decay or damage extends to the pulp – the centre of the tooth containing nerves and blood vessels – bacteria in the mouth can enter the pulp, leading to infection. If infection is so severe that antibiotics do not cure it, extraction may be needed to prevent the spread of infection. Your dentist will then talk you through the options for a permanent replacement.

Fillings

Dental Fillings are a way to restore damaged, cracked, broken or decayed teeth back to their normal shape, size and function. A tooth filling involves the removal of the decayed material and cleaning of the affected area. A lining material is generally then placed over the nerve of the tooth to protect it, and then a filling material is placed on top to restore the tooth. There are many different types and sizes of dental fillings. They range from smaller, simple teeth fillings that can last for up to and over 15 years, to larger, more complex fillings. Whereas these larger fillings often last a long time, they tend to break more easily and are regarded as intermediate restorations that may require crowning in the long-term. The main types of filling include: Amalgam Fillings (‘Silver or Grey’), Composite Fillings ('White'), Layered Composite Fillings (e.g. HFO Enamel Plus), Glass Ionomer Fillings

Root Canals

Root canal treatment (also called Endodontics) is needed when the pulp (nerve) inside your tooth becomes infected through decay or damaged by an injury to your mouth. This infection may spread through the nerve system, which could eventually lead to an abscess, causing a great deal of pain and swelling. If root canal treatment is not carried out, the tooth may need to be taken out. Our dentists can perform root canal treatment to stop the infection from spreading and will preserve as much of your tooth as possible. Using specific techniques and advanced equipment, you will receive a local anaesthetic and the treatment overall should feel no different to having an ordinary filling placed. The aim of the treatment is to remove all infection from within the nerve system. The root is then cleaned, shaped and filled to try to prevent any further infection. A temporary filling is placed and the tooth is then left to settle. The tooth is checked at a later visit and when all the infection has cleared, the tooth is definitively filled. Root canal treatment is a skilled and time – consuming procedure and most courses of treatment will involve two or more visits.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth Whitening - Navan DentalTeeth Whitening - Navan Dental
Includes check-up and pre-whitening clean by dentist. Teeth Whitening (teeth bleaching) is one of the easiest (and most popular!) ways to improve your appearance. Whiter teeth can boost your confidence and self-esteem. Drinking coffee, tea, coke or red wine, and smoking eventually takes its toll on your teeth. The results are dull, yellow-coloured teeth. Antibiotics can also cause darker grey-coloured stains. Now with our tooth whitening procedures you can reverse this process, making your smile brighter, whiter and more youthful. The process can actually remove those internal stains. Most teeth will benefit from teeth whitening, which is a proven safe and effective way to brighten stained or discoloured teeth. At Navan Dental, we offer our patients bespoke home Teeth Whitening kits and have over 10 years of experience at whitening procedures. After checking your teeth are suitable and disease free, we will take impressions of your upper and lower teeth. From this our technician makes thin flexible trays, which fit comfortably over your teeth. We will show you how to apply the whitening gel and we recommend you use it every/or alternate evenings for a number of weeks depending on how dark and stained your teeth are. Patients usually start to see an improvement after just 3 or 4 applications and it is perfectly safe to continue whitening until you are happy with the shade you have achieved. To maintain your whiter teeth you can use your bleaching trays occasionally during the year to top up your whitening as required.

Veneers

Dental veneers (porcelain or composite) have long been used to create the ultimate smile makeover. With dental veneer treatment, it’s possible to transform crooked, stained, damaged or badly worn teeth into a brand new, straight, white smile, as seen on many of the Hollywood celebrities. Ready to book your free consultation for dental veneers? If you are unhappy with the shape, position or colour of your teeth, then dental veneers may be the solution for you. Veneers are a good treatment option to consider because they look like natural teeth and don’t require a major procedure. A veneer is a very thin, tooth - coloured piece of porcelain (like a false finger nail) that is bonded on top of your own tooth. Based on your needs , Navan Dental can adjust the shape of your veneers to make your teeth overall look longer and or closer together. You can have just one veneer or a whole set, known as a smile makeover. Porcelain veneers, on average, last approximately 10 years.
