Braces

Dental veneers are very thin and small custom-designed “shelves”. They are glued over the external surface of the tooth. Dental veneers are usually made of porcelain and chosen to match the patient natural tooth colour. They are a solution for teeth which are deeply discolored, chipped, or have an irregular shape or uneven surface. They can sometimes correct spacing or uneven tooth alignment. The patient must be aware that it is an irreversible process as it requires an invasive tooth preparation : the dentist will file the teeth to place the porcelain veneers over the top.

Dental Bonding

Inlays are very durable fillings that are hand-crafted in the dental laboratory. Depending on the patient's preferences, inlays are made of gold or ceramic. This guarantees a long lasting, aesthetic, strong and loadable filling.

Dental Bridges

Porcelain veneers, or “dental veneers,” can change the appearance of teeth that are chipped, worn, stained, crooked, or generally damaged. A porcelain veneer acts as a thin shell, covering the surface of a tooth. Porcelain veneers are bonded directly to the front of teeth with adhesive cement for an immediate improvement in the shape and color of each tooth. The color of porcelain veneers can be matched to the color of a patient’s teeth. And because dental veneers are made of porcelain, a glassy composition, they are resistant to staining. Porcelain veneers reflect light in a similar way as tooth enamel, and can be buffed and shaped to look just like natural teeth.

Dental Crowns

Depending on the position of the remaining teeth, dentists have various possibilities to eliminate spaces. Bridges are a dental prosthesis which fixes the replacing dentures to the adjacent remaining ones. Bridges with a ceramic cover always have a metal base called a metal structure. It can be made from precious metals (being the most perfect) or non-precious metals. The ceramic cover sits on the metal base making it look aesthetically pleasing. The metal structure gives the crown its stability and long life. The bridge is made by constructing crowns on the teeth either side of the gap and joining them together with a false tooth. It is made in the laboratory and cemented into place using a special dental adhesive. Once in place the bridge cannot be removed. You can usually have a bridge if you have enough strong teeth with good bone support.

Dental Implants

Restoring missing teeth with dental implants is more like getting a third set of teeth. It is just like a natural tooth, which has a root which integrates into the Jaw bone, and on this strong foundation a crown is given. Dental Implants are of various types, there is also a technology difference. It is critical to choose the right type of Implant that best serves your needs. · Replacement of single missing tooth, Replacement for multiple missing teeth, Stabilizing mobile dentures with the help of implants.

Dentures

Root canal treatment (also called Endodontics) is needed when the pulp (blood or nerve supply of the tooth) is infected through decay or injury. Once the pulp is destroyed, it can’t heal. The infection may spread through the root canal system of the tooth and this may eventually lead to an abscess. If root canal treatment is not carried out, the infection can spread to neighbouring teeth. The aim of the treatment is to remove all infection from the root canal by taking out the infected pulp. Any abscesses which may be present can also be drained at this time. The root canal is then cleaned and shaped in readiness for the filling. This should prevent any further infection. Most dentists and patients prefer to fit the treated tooth with a dental crown which will provide extra protection and strength to the tooth. Root canal treatment is a skilled and time-consuming procedure. It is usually very successful, particularly in front teeth which have one straight root canal. Teeth with two or more root canals, however, can sometimes present a problem due to the natural curvature of the root canal or additional canals branching off the main canals.

Removable Partial Dentures

Removable partial dentures generally replaces multiple or single teeth where there are still healthy teeth present. A partial denture also serves as a spacer to prevent the living teeth from shifting position. The one pictured above replaces 4 missing teeth, leaving spaces for 7 natural teeth. Two of the natural teeth are clasped with wrought wire clasps which are cured into the structure of the denture base. The pink material of the denture base is hard plastic and the same material used to make complete dentures. The main single advantage to this type of RPD is the cost. Also the new teeth and new denture base can easily be added to an existing treatment RPD. These are frequently fabricated even if the remaining teeth have existing decay or periodontal disease and their prognosis is doubtful. If later in the course of treatment some of the existing natural teeth are extracted for any reason, new false teeth can be added quickly to the partial, maintaining the patient's appearance. Another common and infact more important use of these appliances is as an "immediate partial denture". This means that the appliance can be made before the teeth are removed, and inserted immediately after the extraction of the planned teeth so that the patient is never without teeth. This is of special help when anterior teeth are to be extracted and patient wants to return back to his/her normal routine immediately.

Extractions

Wisdom Tooth Extraction

Wisdom teeth usually emerge from the gum (erupt) between the ages of 17 and 24. They are the last of the molar teeth. Some people never develop wisdom teeth; others have up to four - one in each corner of the mouth. Wisdom teeth often cause no problems. They are described as impacted when there is not enough space for them at the back of the mouth. In such a case it might erupt towards the cheek or it might impinge on the second molar. Impacted wisdom teeth can cause pain, swelling, infection or damage to the teeth next to them. If the gum around the wisdom tooth is swollen the jaw may become stiff and sore. Infection at the back of the mouth can cause bad breath and a bad taste. The surgical removal (extraction) of one or more wisdom teeth can relieve these problems. People who have impacted wisdom teeth that are not causing problems do not need to have them removed. Having wisdom teeth removed is often the only way to permanently relieve painful symptoms. Although antibiotics can provide temporary relief, the symptoms tend to flare up again in the future. The removal of such impacted wisdom tooth has to be accomplished surgically.

Fillings

Dental implants are artificial abutment teeth made from a unique bio material and applied in the place of the lost tooth to hold a tooth replacement. The material is pure, unalloyed titanium which is not rejected by the human tissue. During preliminary examinations the dentist checks the patient in order to decide whether the use of implants is possible. This includes a dental examination via X-Ray shots (of tooth substitution to see if the jaw is able to carry the implants).

Gingivitis Treatment

If food is allowed to accumulate between the tooth and the gum margin, it forms plaque along with the microbes. The resultant irritation of the gum margins produces a condition called as GINGIVITIS characterized by redness, bleeding and swelling of the gums. If proper attention is paid at this stage the condition is perfectly reversible. If the gum diseases are not treated in time, the infection from the gums can spread to involve the underlying bone and may cause loosening or migration or loss of the tooth. Sometimes the infection may cause pus formation that can involve adjoining tissues and may cause swelling, pus discharge, bone infection etc. Chronic gum diseases where pus oozes out of the gum margins (pyorrhea)/Periodontitis can affect the general health of a person. At this stage the teeth start shaking, they are unable to withstand chewing forces and foul smell starts from the mouth. Periodontitis is the number one cause of tooth loss after the age of 40

Root canals

Root canal therapy refers to the treatment of the inner aspects of a tooth, specifically that area inside a tooth originally occupied by the tooth's "pulp tissue". The process of root canal treatment first removes (as thoroughly as possible) bacteria, nerve tissue, the organic debris left over from the breakdown of nerve tissue, and bacterial toxins out from within the inner aspects of a tooth. All of these items either are or will produce the tissue irritants that can cause your body to activate an inflammation reaction. Subsequently, once this space has been cleaned root canal treatment involves filling in and sealing off the interior of the tooth. This is done as a means of minimising the possibility that bacteria will be able to re-colonize the inner aspects of the tooth or that the interior of the tooth can fill in with tissue fluid that could become stagnant and subsequently break down. (Either of these situations could produce a state of persistent inflammation in the bone that surrounds the tooth's root. ) The seal also contains and encapsulates any debris that could not be fully removed during the cleaning aspect of the root canal treatment process so that it cannot leak out and trigger an inflammation reaction.

An Implant is a small titanium screw-like fixture that serves as the replacement for the root portion of a missing natural tooth. The Implant is placed in the bone of the upper or lower jaw. After the placement, the implant has to fuse with the bone (titanium is one of the best materials to integrate with natural bone) which can take a couple of weeks. Treatment time will depend on your situation. It is possible to get well functioning and esthetic looking teeth within a few days. At the Final stage you will get brand-new teeth which are strong and similar to natural teeth. Dental implants can be used to replace a single lost tooth or a number. Implant supported replacement teeth look, feel and function like natural teeth, they preserve the integrity of a facial structure and improve the look and function of a jaw. Once the screw-like fixture is safe, a dentist will screw in an actual dental implant that is made to look and replace natural tooth. An Implant will be placed either on the lower or upper jaw. A successful implant will resemble and function as your natural teeth.

Veneers

Bridges are used to replace missing teeth. This is a permanent solution and only your dentist can remove it. The neighbouring teeth are ground and crowned and serve as "bridge pillars". The gaps can be filled by placing the bridge elements between the neighbouring teeth. The materials listed above under "Crowns" are used here, too. Today's high-tech bridges are manufactured from zirconium. Usually they last 10-15 years. Bridges are alternative and a more affordable option for implants.
