About UDAAN
“UDAAN ” was
set up as a Charitable Trust in April 1994 to help persons with brain-related
conditions – such as Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation (MR), Down Syndrome,
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and others - to lead
a better quality of life and to help them achieve their respective capabilities
to the fullest. By doing so we attempt to enable them to contribute
better to their families and larger society.
Since these conditions are multi-pathology and
multifaceted, no one method or therapy would give the required
benefit. UDAAN therefore conceptualized
and developed - Multi-Mode Therapy (MMT) . MMT is a methodology wherein -
intensive one-on-one Standard Therapy + HBOT
+ Unani Neuro-restorative Therapy (jointly with Hamdard University) +
CP-Specific Acupuncture, are used in a specific combination to give maximum
benefit.
At UDAAN we
also supplement the treatment by clinical and investigative
evidence based techniques such as, 3-D SPECT imaging of Brain and MAPS/DAN
Protocol based Biomedical testing as also use of medical interventions like
various pressure effects of HBOT, corrective surgery, Unani (Centella Asiatica i.e.
Brahmi), Acupuncture, Biofeedback, specific supplementations, diet and
medications in Autism, MB12 Injection, etc. Based on our experience, we guide
the child on what could best fulfil his / her expectations and needs.
Our work was also
recognized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India
since March 2000 for Education and Training of severely multiple handicap
children.
