Orthodontist Biography:
DDS, Dip Ortho, FRCD(C). He is a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics who has been creating beautiful smiles since 1979. He earned his dental degree from the University of Toronto in 1974 and then, in 1979, completed an advanced two year post-doctoral course, accredited by both the Canadian and American Dental Associations, in the specialty of orthodontics. Dr Witt has practised as a dentist from 1974 to 1977 and as an orthodontist and dentofacial orthopedist since 1979. In addition to being a full-time orthodontist in the Ladner office, Dr Witt is involved in teaching at the University of British Columbia on a part-time basis, and has done so continuously since 1983, instructing dentists, dental students, certified dental assistants, and registered dental hygienists in orthodontics at various times. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and is a member of a number of professional organizations including the British Columbia Society of Orthodontists, the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, and the American Association of Orthodontists. He also serves as a mentor for the Basic Orthodontic Study Club, Chief Lecturer for the Orthodontic Module, and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Post-Graduate Orthodontic Program, all at the University of British Columbia. In his leisure time, Dr Witt enjoys downhill and cross-country skiing, cycling, hiking, and running.
